How does it feel to be left?
Have you been left behind?
I don't like that feeling; the feeling as if everyone has their own things to catch up to and you're left trying to catch up to them. The feeling of chasing after the person in front of you but barely reaching their place in the race.
When you endlessly run and run and run until your legs tire out, when you chase and chase and chase until you've reached the finish line. When you cross the finish line but win nothing because you are the only one trying to catch up. When you finally give up because no one sees how fast you run just to match their pace.
It's that feeling. The feeling of being helpless.
When people walk away, intentionally or not, the feeling when in the end it always ends with you alone. Just you, staring up at the ceiling drowning in your own blues.
A feeling none want to feel, a feeling none deliberately choose to experience, but a feeling most end up becoming too used to for their own good. Oh, it's just me now. The sudden realisation that everyone's right and you're left.
If you ever feel like the finish line only gets further away, if you ever feel like you can never match someone else's pace, stay still and become the fastest in your own race.
Because when you're running so hard to cross someone else's finish line, with a forgotten explanation and a futile goal, a race to you is a game of catch to them.
