Just a little warning, this chapter is SO badly written. I'm not really used to writing long chapters (yet(, so that's why I didn't really edit this properly, and it'll probably come off as very cringy 🙃 I'm probably gonna rewrite this another time, but definitely not soon.
Anyways, Enjoy!
For some reason, Yogurt Cream had insisted on taking a stroll around the mansion's gardens after their tour, which surprisingly lasted for the whole day. Fortunately, Lilac's hours weren't wasted as he was able to acquire some somewhat valuable information. From what he had gathered, the three main towers of the manor had many different styles of interiors, which was very confusing to navigate but still had easily locatable exits. Yogurt Cream had even agreed to show him some of the secret exits for 'emergencies'. And though it was quite difficult, Lilac still somehow managed to familiarize himself with the mansion.
The late afternoon sun cast a yellow glow through the many plants around them as Lilac and his new target strolled through the pergolas of the Yogurt mansion's garden. A soft breeze would occasionally pass by, carrying with it the subtle scents of the variety of flowers surrounding them, giving the assassin a somewhat sense of relaxation. Leaves and vines hung above them as they slightly swayed in the breeze, giving an overgrown look, yet Lilac could notice how it was perfectly trimmed to fit the garden's design.
As someone who was accustomed to living in the more shady areas of the city, the assassin wasn't used to being in places like these. He had been to other grand gardens of course, but none of them could compare to this. But despite the tranquil environment and the perfectly clear weather, the garden couldn't be less unrelaxing with the obnoxious and seemingly endless chatter of Yogurt Cream.
Lilac didn't know how the heir had managed to talk so much throughout the day. Even during their tours, it was as if Yogurt Cream had a whole essay ready for every little detail about the mansion. And every time Lilac would think he'd finally shut up, the heir would always find another subject to talk about. It was barely Lilac's second day with him, and he already wanted to strangle the man.
Now, he had somehow managed to get to the subject of his siblings, and Lilac couldn't possibly think of how his topics could get any more uninteresting.
"-And the reason why you wouldn't see her that often is because she's usually out with her fiance," Yogurt Cream casually stated as Lilac followed closely behind him. "Hmm, come to think of it, I can't believe she's not married yet. I mean, she is the prettiest daughter."
"But even I am not married yet, and I'm the best looking child, so I don't think I should judge," He shrugged as he snapped his fan open. "Although, I do think she's coming to my party tonight..."
Oh right, the party. Yogurt Cream had been rambling all about it a few times throughout the day. And from what little he actually listened to, Lilac assumed that it was the heir's birthday, which could explain the occasional servants they would encounter that seemed to be preparing for an extravagant ball.
"Hey, are you listening to me?" Yogurt Cream suddenly asked, stopping in his tracks after noticing how Lilac didn't seem to be paying any attention to him.
The assassin internally sighed in annoyance before sparing him a glance to 'confirm' his attentiveness. He would rather have ignored him, but he would also like to avoid a possible tantrum. Thankfully, it worked.
"Well you better listen," Yogurt Cream snapped his fan close, deciding to fold his arms as they continued walking, "Talking to you is like talking to an imaginary friend. Actually, talking to an imaginary friend would be better since they would at least reply to me."
