Chapter count: 1.Harvey watches as Donna watches a movie on the tv with a blanket thrown over her with a bowl of strawberries and cream ice cream and a glass of red wine, the half empty bottle beside it on a Friday evening.
Harvey's brown eyes linger on Donna's outfit for a minute: his shirt he wore to work yesterday and the online one that hasn't been washed and a pair of his boxers, exposing her long pale legs. Her flaming red hair in a messy ponytail, while he likes sheathing her draped in all gorgeous beautiful gowns that show off her beautiful body and perfect curves, and jewellery that makes her the most accessorised person in the room and with killer-looking heels adorning her feet, he prefers the sight that hardly anyone gets to see: relaxed and comfy Donna.
"There you are." Harvey says walking into the living and sitting beside her, putting her feet in his lap, making his appearance known. Donna looks away from the TV to her boyfriend who wears a smile, a smile that only comes out around her, Jessica, Mike and Rachel.
"Why are you smiling at me like that?" Donna asks as she trades her ice cream bowl for her glass of expensive red wine Harvey got her as a 'end of week' surprise.
Harvey looks at Donna, watching as her lips leave a smudge on the rim of her wine glass as she takes it away from her mouth. "Because you're perfect." He tells her softly. Donna shakes her head in disagreement. "No I'm not." She protests weakly. It's Harvey who shakes his head now and leans over, pecking her lips. "You're perfect in my eyes, all our family think you're perfect and they're right: you are perfect so stop doubting your perfectionism, why are you doubting it anyway?" He asks, already knowing the answer.
"Faye always belittled me, always treated me like a secretary, always told me that I'd always be a secretary, that I was only COO and that you only promoted me because I slept my way from the bottom to the top, she used my previous mistakes against me: when I destroyed the memo, i impersonated the the travel agent to get Mike those records, my relationship with Stephan Huntley, threatened to fire me over those incidents, she always threatened to report you to the Bar to keep me from keep me from telling you what she said. And as time went on, I started seeing what Faye always saw me as: nothing but a disappointment." Donna whispers as her eyes travel from his face to the empty wine glass. Donna sits up and her fingers wrap around the neck of the bottle, giving Harvey a look before shrugging and drinking the wine straight from the bottle, not caring if Harvey is giving her a confused look.
Harvey is shocked by his redhead beauty has just told her about Faye and her treatment of Donna. He's slightly disappointed that Faye is gone because he can't use the information Donna has provided him and use it to blackmail her out of their home. Oh, he, and the rest of their family would've had the time of their lives lording this all over her head. Especially Samantha and Louis.
Harvey watches in shock as his girlfriend drinks her wine straight from the bottle without pausing. Deciding that he's had enough of his girlfriend pitying herself, Harvey wrenches the bottle from Donna's hands, ignoring her glare and returns it to his liquor cabinet on the highest shelf, knowing she can't reach it without him picking her up and giving her a slight boost. He walks back over to the couch where Donna is sitting with a pout on her face. Harvey kneels in front of her, taking her hands in his.
"Listen to me, Donna, you're perfect to me, to our family, but more importantly, you're perfect to yourself, it's what makes Donna Donna. You're not a disappointment and I never wanna hear those words coming out of your mouth again, is that clear?" Harvey says softly but firmly, using his lawyer voice that makes her nod her head, even though she doesn't believe anything he's saying to her.
Harvey can see that Donna doesn't believe anything he's telling her about being perfect so he lets it go for now, knowing Donna is tispy to listen to reason. Harvey straightens up and sits beside her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him, kissing the top of her head.
"You're perfect, Donna, don't doubt that." Harvey says softly as he feels Donna lean against heavily, her warm breath entering his ear, telling him she's fallen asleep.
Scooping his slumbering beauty in his arms, Harvey walks to the bedroom and lays Donna on her side of the bed, watching as she rolls over, her arms snaking around his pillow. Smiling at her childish antics, Harvey strips down to his boxers and his shirt, the identical outfit to Donna and slides into bed, gently getting his pillow from her iron glad grip. Donna snuggles into him, her hand finding his.
"You're perfect, Donna, and if I have to spend the rest of our lives proving that you are, so be it because you're perfect for me, always have been, always will be." Harvey whispers into the darkness of the bedroom before sleep claims him and sends him into a dream of Donna.
