Beacon of the Dark (Part 9)

It had been a while since you last saw Loki for he and King Odin had left the realm..

You were delighted at the truce even if it only worked out to be a temporary thing; it were still an achievement in your eyes. 

You couldn't help but worry for him though.. Loki were always getting into trouble. With him being Odin's adopted brother however.. Odin knew very well how to handle such situations with ages of experience.

You were on the balcony when Thor surprised you with a visit. He didn't say much; he just joined beside you looking out at the view.

"You always have loved the sunsets haven't you" he surmised while he studying the view to gain an understanding of why you always sought them out.

You hummed back in response not minding the extra company during such a peaceful moment.

Lately your mind always seemed to be elsewhere though.

Thor seemingly studied you from the side.

"Are you worried about Loki?"

"Hmm?" You looked at him slightly stunned from the daydream.

He smirked and looked back at the view.

"You're easy to read these days" he stated while you got a little flustered.

"I know he will be fine; it's just well.. he's Loki" you fidgeted with the fabric of your gown a little.

"I know exactly what you mean" he said seriously as you both fell quiet.

He smirked your way revealing the gest and you both laughed unexpectedly.

It was strange seeing this side to Thor but it felt nice. Formalities often prevented such bonds. 

You were beginning to recognize that he treated you as family. You felt so honoured at the thought as your face flushed a little. Was that because you cared for Loki?

"How is he treating you?" he suddenly asked.

You were a little taken aback but Thor were no fool. He knew a relationship when he saw one.

You were a little flustered since nothing were exactly official..

"Fine.." you were a little shy to admit it.

He studied you from the side to ensure you were being honest.

"Good. I am well pleased to hear you've found happiness at last. I've worried since the passing of Baldr but now I can see why he sought you for his student. You are well capable Y/n"

You looked at him slightly stunned as well gratified. You didn't expect to meet his approval and smiled to yourself a little.

"Thank you Thor"

He glanced back for the sunset in thought. "I've never seen him behave this way with another" he informed quite seriously.

"You must be truly gifted, for I don't believe this is an act of his this time.. You may just be the only one capable of reaching that heart of his."

The thought were quite flattering.

"I must admit I'm surprised myself.." you said in honesty.

"I can tell he cherishes you"
