I sucked in a breath as my eyes opened. I groaned at the pain in my side. I sat up slowly. I looked around. Music was blaring. I was in Jinx's layer. I put my hands down on the table she had me on. I looked down at my body. I was in my bra and underwear, my side had patching and wrapping. She had bandaged me.

I put my hand on my side as I got off the table, searching for Jinx. I sighed. She was sitting at her table. I limped over to her.

"Haven't felt this useless in years" I said sitting on her table. She didn't look at me. She was slightly frozen but continued what she was doing. She had her goggles on and was working on a bomb. I stared at her.

"Jinx..." I said. She continued twisting a bolt. I picked up one of her paintbrushes and moved it down to my thigh. I began painting a blue cloud. I looked at her shoulder for a reference. The machines integrated into my body had drawings all over them—all of them by her. Whether it was when she was bored or fixing me.

"I'm fine, as healthy as a cripple can be," I said knocking on my hip. A metallic noise rang from it. I kicked my legs, ignoring the pain in my side.

"Why aren't you mad at me," She said in a grump voice. I smiled at her talking to me. I put my hands down and leaned my head back. I sucked in a breath.

"You didn't do it on purpose. Right?" I questioned looking down at her with a smile. She looked up at me with a worried look as she pulled off her goggles.

"I- I swear it was an accident." She said putting her hand on my thigh. I laughed. "It was stupid, just a- a stupid mistake. Which I will never make again" She stammered.

I put my hands on hers, silencing her. "Jinx... Calm down. You didn't mess up. You have a past. A history. Even the most boring person on the planet does..." I said smiling and leaning down to her. "Sometimes our past can be full of fear, hate. Sometimes this hate, this fear... it can spill, leaving us defeated. No one's invulnerable to it. Not even Silco. You did well." I said.

Her blue eyes began to water. I smiled sentimentally at her. She put on a fake laugh and looked away from me. "That's not what Silco thinks," She said in a high-pitched voice.

"oh?" I said watching her get up and walk around the turbine.

"no, he- he thinks I messed up, he thinks I failed. I did fail." She said flailing her arms around and turning to me.

"You might have failed the mission but that's okay. I'm sure Silco can get more shimmer. He always can. It's a source, people need it. They'll get it" I said getting up slowly.

"I mean, I guess you're right. But, I did manage to make it up to Silco, I managed to show him." she with a giggle. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What did you do?" I asked intrigued. She bit her lip and smiled as she turned to me. She had something in her hands. I walked over to her. She turned her hands, opening them. A blue light emit from her hands. I stared at it, entranced.

"It's some new hextech. Something big and- and powerful. I'm not sure how to use it yet but oh man, when I do... They'll never be able to stop us." She said slowly getting quieter. My eyes looked back up at hers. I smiled.

"You truly are a masterpiece, Jinx," I said. I pushed her hair behind her ear. She giggled.

"Aw, thanks. You know, I think you're pretty great too, Flora. I mean, those white stripes in you're hair are a tad strange but it adds character" she said bouncing slightly. I chuckled. She started working her way around me.

The Brunette's chest moved up and down lightly as she slept. The blue-eyed girls trained on the quieter girl's face. The way it contoured as she dreamt. The way her lips parted slightly as she let out a breath.
