The ground was wet beneath my bare toes as I walked the old path towards the cliffside. Overhead, the rain pounded- streaking my ripped dress as my long hair whipped roughly in the wind. Hundreds of feet below, dark angry waves smashed against the shore as the storm descended upon the seaside.. I shivered, as slick black strands of hair dripped down the base of my back, drenching my bare skin. Clasping my arms around my body, I struggled to keep warm as my lips turned blue and shivers encompassed my thin form, threatening to drown in their midst. My vision blurred as rain cleaved the sky, and I blinked, rubbing my eyes as I sought the steps of the path I had taken.

I gasped suddenly as I paused mid-step, realizing that was indeed not alone. There only yards away, stood a man hovering over the cliff side, his eyes upon the waves as he contemplated the steep drop upon the rocks below. I wanted to run to him, to pull him away—yet something held me back..

A strange chloric feeling built up in my chest, and hesitantly I took a few steps back as my vision blurred once again. I rubbed my eyes, trying to clear them as I blinked away the moisture that pooled around my eyelids.

The figure remained motionless despite my steps-the sound of his thick over coat flapping in the storm, deafened the silence as my lips smacked together. Hesitantly I took a few steps forward, my toes tangling in the rough underfoot as I drew in a tight cautious breath. He stiffened, his broad shoulders heaving slightly as he slowly turned me..

Him..

I screamed, my voice cracking as I tried to run yet it seemed as my feet were moulded to the earth. He stank of cigars and heroine, and he smiled wolfishly as he drew near..Pulling me close, he grabbed my hair, wrapping it around his fingers until I drew in a small cry. He grinned charmingly, as he relished in the pain he withdrew from my lips. I strained against him, as he brought his thick cigar to his lips-blowing smoke into my face. I coughed, my throat constricting as I struggled to draw in a breath. His muscular arms pinned me back as I fought against him-yet there was nothing I could do as I was helpless in this plunder.

Acknowledging my helplessness, he again lazily brought his cigar to his lips, as if sucking upon it in thought. I watched him, my nostrils flaring in anger as he snapped his broad knees over my legs so I could kick no more. He chuckled under his breath, and suddenly brought the cigar down, hard upon the exposed flesh of my shoulder.

I screamed, a hollow metallic sound ripping through my throat as I threw back my head in pain. Hot coals pressed against my flesh burning criss-crossed red ridges into my shoulder consuming my arm with fire that tainted me inside and out. The pain tore me apart, and I screamed again; my mouth gauging wide as my cries echoed across the cliffs, plunging into the rocks below. Tears streamed across my vision as abysmal laughter surrounded me, pulling me in-closer and closer until breath escaped me. Unbearable agony rocked through me like a thousand diamonds spearing my skin and bones. Everything hurt, and yet I could scream no longer-as I fell back, my body descending into numbness as I faded into nothing.

I opened my eyes..

Bright white strobe lights mixed with a blackish tint of four wall corner swam at me. I was in a small crowded like room with a distinct smell of freshly grounded coffee beans and cigarettes. Caine sat in a chair adjacent to me, smoking a camel with the window wide open. He stretched, yawning as he patted down his hair.

"You're awake." He said sleepily, as he groaned nestling back into the chair. I sat up slowly, flinching slightly as my shoulder contracted. I peered at the flimsy bandage wrapped around the wound. I raised an eyebrow at Caine.
