A young girl slammed the door of her room open, struggling to put on her jacket. Her bag was partially slung over her shoulder and her hairbrush was, quite literally, stuck in the auburn mess that could barely be identified as hair, and she was having a hard time keeping her balance.
She nearly ran into a wall, but somehow avoided the collision and finally managed to reach the kitchen safe and sound. Freeing the hairbrush with a wince, she threw it onto the counter of the kitchen without much of a care, nearly knocking over the food occupying it.
The smell of hot bread filling her nose, she glanced at the table. A few toasts and some orange juice were apparently waiting for her.
Shaking her head with a silent sigh, right before grabbing the breakfast and leaving without a noise. While going down the stairs, she checked the time.
'8:00am? School starts in thirty minutes, damn it! Wait, if I use the shortcuts, then I might make it on time'
She reached the last floor and instantly started adjusting her uniform.
"Oh, good morning, Cherry dear!"
The girl startled a bit, before offering a smile to her mother, a woman going downstairs. The teen then returned the greeting, even though she still had a toast between her teeth. Swallowing quickly, the woman laughed as the girl offered a sheepish smile.
She scratched the back of her head. "Sorry, Mom"
"You seem to be quite in a hurry this morning, Cherry," she remarked, her face makes a grin. "Late again?"
"Not this time," the teen grinned back, pumping her fist. "Well, no time to lose. I'll see you tonight. Good day, Mom!"
With that, she jumped back on her feet, and instantly rushed to the door, As it closed behind her.
Cherry ran on the sidewalk, almost colliding with the civilians already out in the streets, and she laughed it off as a few cursed after her. After ten years, she was finally going to her dream school . Although she barely passed the exam, but she never really minded.
Her hair flying wildly around, she took a sharp turn to the left, running at fast speed into an alley. Jumping to avoid a stray cat, she slid under a few metal bars before reaching the stairs leading to the high-railways. She grinned, using her powers she levitated herself.
Of course, using those routes by foot was far from legal. The stairs were only to be used if the train got stuck or something of the sort. However, she couldn't really care less at the present moment.
"I'm not going to be late, thank god!"
She let her power die down, and turned right going towards the Tatooin Station. She gained some speed and kept her teeth clenched. Last time she hadn't, she had found herself biting her tongue, which wasn't a particularly fun memory.
'BANG!'
Nearly losing her balance, her ruby eyes widened when she found herself heading straight towards what seemed to be a Rap battle if the looks of the Ginger haired man holding a gun starting a shootout mid battle the railway were anything to go by.
Wait a moment... I'm on the fricking railway!
Trying to stop her mad dash, she found herself unable to turn around as the railway caved in, making her gain even more speed towards her certain doom.
In one last attempt to save her life, she bent the knees and took the jump. Screams and exclamations echoed farther down, and she suddenly realized a crowd was already there, thus assisting at her sudden leap of faith twenty meters above ground.
'Well crap'
She didn't have time to focus on the potential publicity, though. Clenching her jaw, she somehow managed a safe landing on the other side of the destroyed railway, but lost her balance and made a few barrels, before finally stopping near the edge.
'Such a nice way to start the day, really'
She shoved her hand in her pocket and gasped in horror. Her wallet had fallen down near the spectators when she jumped.
"M-My wallet!"
Out of ideas, she activated her power again. A levitated abit off the ground, but it was enough.
Without hesitation, she took control of herself mid air while levitating. The power grew strong in half-a-second, creating a aura between her and the Rappers, which forced him to pull back his gun before he could get pushed. As he stumbled away, taken aback by the sudden apparition of the aura, she used the momentum to get back on her feet and run like hell.
She made three steps before the Ginger haired boy counterattacked.
Trying to escape the gunshots, she realized too late she had jumped the wrong way, and she started falling from the railway. Before she could even think of somehow stopping her fall, though, someone caught her. Surprised, she tilted her head up to see a person in a white hoodie with baggy blue pants now holding her. Careful, he placed her back on firm ground.
"Are you alright?" he asked,in nonchalant tone in his voice.
"Totally fine, thanks," she beamed at him.
He shook his head with a sigh, ruffling her hair, before nudging her towards the crowd and reporting his attention on the current problem at hands. She stared for a second before a familiar voice echoed louder than the others behind her.
"Cherry!"
"Eh?" She spun around in time to see Carol forcing her way towards her, stumbling at her feet. "Carol? What a weird coincidence!"
"What were you thinking!? That was terribly reckless!" she scolded, and she remarked her hands were shaking. "You could have been hurt! What were you doing on the railway anyway?"
"Shortcut," she shrugged. "Can't really blame me, though. How was I to know a Rap battle would be at the station?"
"Seriously..." She hung his head in despair.
She laughed, twisting her an auburn strand between her fingers. A moment later, someone suddenly jumped above their heads. She watched in awe as person who saved Cherry took on the Ginger haired shooter. Noticing him, Carol quickly pulled her by the sleeve of her uniform as they quickly leave the crowd to spectate the Rap battle.
"H-Hey what up I can walk y'know!"
"Girl we'll be late for our first day if you keep watching we have to hurry!" Carol continued to pull Cherry as ran their way to school.
When they arrive both girls we're out of breath as they ran non-stop to the entrance stopping to catch their breaths right before passing a familiar Ginger haired shooter spinning his gun around his finger with a smirk on his face.
"Hey Carol tell if I'm wrong but doesn't he look like the shooter we saw back at Tatooin Stat--"
"Tatooin Station.. yeah that's him alright strange how did he get here so fast?" Carol said interrupting Cherry as she gives up thinking and continued their way to the entrance ceremony.
Students start to gather and fill up the halls as they make their way to the entrance ceremony with that a mysterious figure gazes upon them from above the school.
'The entrance ceremony's about to start I should better get down, after all they can't start the program without me..'
The mysterious figure then starts to go down as the students gathered up and waited for the ceremony to start
