It was 3 pm on a Saturday evening in a small town in New York, but in an even smaller house, Mason White and his father lived together. Mason was Seventeen at the time and a Junior in Highschool. He had no mother and sister, he only lived with his dad. His mother died when he was seven, giving birth to Mason's sister Rena, who died right after she was taken out of her mother.
Mason looked out his window to see the rain playfully hit the window in a light manner. "it's nice out.." he said with a smile as he sat up and got out of his bed, and went to his closet to change into a new set of clothes to go out in since he was indeed planning on going out today.
Mason's friends invited him to go to an antique shop that day but they had canceled to go another day, instead of waiting for Mason decided to go by himself. Once he was done changing he had left his room to go downstairs to his kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge. The sound of true crime came from the TV as that's what his father was watching.
" Hey, kiddo where u off to?" Said the father.
"Antique store" Mason replied closing the fridge and walking to the door to get his shoes and the keys to the car.
"Alright just be safe alright?" the father said in return going back to watching the TV.
"k, see ya" Mason said taking his phone out of his pocket and walking out the door making sure to close it behind him before he left.He walked down to his driveway hopping into the driver seat of the car. He buckled his seat belt and started the car, and as he drove down the driveway to the street he started to play some music to brighten the unloving presence in the car. He watched the road carefully as any normal driver would, but paying attention to the hazy scenery of the raindrops falling to hit the ground, almost like tears shedding from a person who has way too many tears built. the car smelled of roses and faint cedar incense, which seemed to match the theme of the weather perfectly
Mason had turned onto the street with the Antique shop as he pulled into the small parking lot next to it. the shop gave him a sensation of acceptance when he looked at it, but with a hint of sorrow and calling. He later then got out of the car locking the car behind him as he walked into the store.
The store was dimly lit and smelled of incense, the lady working the counter had wavy dark ginger hair, she wore a green renaissance dress that looked handmade but very well made. her hair was braided with one piece in the front out, as it almost made her look right out of a fairytale! she was pale but not as pale as a ghost, but looked amazing in every aspect.
"Hey hun, what can I do for ya?" she said as she turned to him
"oh- I'm just here to check things out" he replied seeming a bit nervous
"oh alright, take ur time then" she left a faint smile and a chuckle as her hand messed with her braid as she went back to a book she was reading at her desk counter.Mason roamed the store looking at every little thing he could see, seemingly interested in what the place offered! he continued to take his time but the longer he was there, the more he seemed to gravitate to the back of the store. The back of the store was where most of the stuff that was returned goes to, it was usually things that were unwanted. But as he entered the back of the store he saw something that piqued his interest.
"miss..?" Mason said to the front of the store.
"yes hun, what's up?" she said in a cheerful tone.
"what's this doll..?"As he spoke that sentence the room went silent and her tone changed.
"that..doll..".....
