"I don't know. Maybe lock you up in my room?"

"You know what? I feel like your jokes are getting out of hand."

"Yeah. Well guess what? They're not jokes. I'll be there in about ten minutes. Keep the door open." He ends the call and ruffles his hair, glancing at the mirror.

For a while now, he's caught sight of a vehicle hot on his tracks.

And as much as it irritates him to admit, he's been on this wild goose chase for over ten minutes now, maneuvering the wheel in attempt to escape whoever had the guts to follow him.

Exactly two minutes later, he makes a sharp turn. A large cargo truck swallows his trace, blocking the car the was once chasing him. He makes it to your house just in time and opens the door, finding you standing on the other side.

He raises the plastic bag, raising a proud eyebrow. "Hope you're hungry. You have no idea what I had to go through to get this."

You hold back a snort of amusement and usher him in. The rest of the night goes by with casual talks and laughters.

Jungkook left at around five in the morning without waking you up. And by the time he reaches his house, he finds Iseul still fast asleep on the couch. Her weird sleeping positions makes him sigh in exasperations

He grabs the nearest cushion and smacks it across the girl's face, startling her awake.

"I didn't do it!?" Her hair messily cascades down her face, hovering her squinted eyes.

"There's food in the kitchen. Eat up."

Iseul gently goes back into a sleeping position. "Twenty five more minutes."

Her snickers under his breath. "Your training starts in thirty minutes, Iseul. And you know I still have to drive you there."

"Training shitraining. I'm already good with guns." He can barely make up what she's saying at this point. If she continues to act this way, she'll be in a whole lot of trouble.

"Okay that's it." Without thinking twice, he grabs a bucket of ice cold water from the kitchen and empties it on his sister's body.

"Hey!" Iseul flinches awake this time with a squeak and looks at her brother with painful shock in her eyes. "What was that for!"

At that exact moment, Jungkook's familiar ringtone echoes through the house. He lifts a finger up. As a sign for Iseul to be quiet. "Dad? Yeah we're having breakfast right now... No she's awake.. yeah... yeah we'll be there... Just give us thirty minutes... see you."

He ends the call and lifts a fine eyebrow, wiggling the phone beside his ear.  "I'd start preparing if I were you. Don't want to keep dad waiting."

Iseul bites her tongue to suppress words from coming out. But anyone from a mile radius can see she's hating every second of what's about to happen.

She stomps away with a silent mouth but leaves loud steps of aggression behind.

Distant laughters from children ring past your ears. A familiar setting comes to view. A yellow slide. A blue swing. It was that playground you used to visit so much back when you were a kid.

It appears as though you were having that dream again.

"Tae! You're not supposed to do that! If you break a butterfly's wings, you'll get cursed for the rest of your life!"

"I think you're stretching that story a little too far, Y/n. Everyone knows you won't get cursed just by breaking a butterfly's wings. You'll only get your hands dirty."

This isn't a dream. It's a memory from the past that decided to resurface. Two ten year olds just having the time of their lives chasing and catching butterflies.

You were watching yourself, and him at a third point of view.

It's been a while since you've last seen Taehyung. He left the city two years before your mother died. Without a goodbye. It happened so suddenly. You recalled how your heart shattered when the neighbors broke out the news.

Now that it's been five years, you wonder how he's doing.

What stirs you awake is the streaks of sunlight entering through the gaps of the window.

Releasing a breath of air, you force yourself to get up and face the harshness of reality once again.

Jungkook's nowhere to be seen. So you assume he's already left. That's a relief.

Everyone knows you won't get cursed just by breaking a butterfly's wings. You'll only get your hands dirty.

It seems like you were having that dream again.

You decide now's not the time to recall past memories. You still have to go to work after all.

After clearing the house and preparing for the day, you make it to work just in time. The strong scent of caffeine attacks your nostrils the second you step foot inside.

"Y/n, just in time. We're kinda low in staff so you're on counter duty." A co-worker informs you and you instantly get to work. The bell above the entrance chimes, indicating a customer.

As you secure the apron with a tie, you slide to the back of the counter and put on your work smile. "Welcome to hope cafe, what can I get for you, sir?"

"I think I'll have the Alarm Clock Breakfast with black coffee." A voice that's multiple octave lover than anyone you've heard. But it's soothing. You bet if this guy sang, he'd be able to hypnotize anyone.

"Dine in or take out?"

"Definitely a dine in."

"That'll be twenty two thousand won, sir."

"Here you go." After handing you the exact amount, you gesture towards the tables. It's at this moment that you take a good look at him.

And for some odd reason, why does it feel like you know him?

"Please... have a seat. Your order will be out in a couple of minutes."

He sends you a tight smile, walking away right after.
