"A what?" Astrum's voice dropped any tone it had had in it before he spoke. Almost immeditaely did he regret it, but he kept his cool, offering an awkward smile before he spoke again.
"A murder. I know, you sort of.. left. That side of your life, but your the only person I know who could-"
"You want me. To help you-" She said the word almost like it was poision. 'You,' like he was something that only hurt her. Which, to be fair, he was. "-to kill someone?" His face turned flushed as he looked away, sheepishly smiling.
"Yes." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. A nervous habit, but one that seemed to make people feel bad for him. It did not work on her, though. Swift footsteps approached him, and sooner than he expect, another fist collided with him somewhere on his body. This woman had some issues, but Aksu didn't mind. This time, it wasn't the cold of her metal hand, but the warmth of her remaining one, making him break out in a smile as he tensed, closing his eyes and preparing for another face shot.
But, it never came. Instead, he felt a hard thunk on his arm as pain blossomed where he had been hit. "Cunt." Astrum muttered from beside him, crossing her arms. "I will help you." His eyes widened with excitement. Him! And Astrum! On a date! Well.. what was as close to a date as he was gonna get.
"Great! I need-"
"But." His smile dropped, as he looked down at her, confused. "I'm not going to do much. It's your job, from your low level ranking, so you get the fun of doing this mostly by yourself."
"Nooo, no no no no. Ast, I'd need your help a lot more than just slightly. It's a big thing, thats- thats why I came to you!" Exasperation filled his tone, as he spoke with his hands, trying to ignore her lack of care. "Please Rose, I need your help. Big time."
"You know other people. You only want my help because you favor me over the others." As much as he wanted to deny it, wanted to say something snappy back, he knew she was right. He adored her, and just wanted her help because he wanted to be near her again after so long. He just really didn't like that she knew that.
"Please, just this once? I'll.. I can't promise I'll leave you alone, but I can try." His words were softer than before, sounding genuine. Deep down, they both knew he was lying, that he just wanted an excuse. But hearing him say them, his voice softer than she'd ever heard it, Astrum couldn't help but sigh in defeat.
"Fine. Where and when do we have to do this?" Aksu's face lit up, as he held himself back from hugging her with excitement. He really hadn't expected a yes, but it was good to know his puppydog voice still worked on her. Very good to know.
"It's at a ball. Y'know, like the dancing ones. But uh... a ball full of people who really don't like me. ..Or you." He rubbed the back of his neck as she raised an eyebrow.
"What did you tell them about me."
"Nothing! Nothing- Uh.. Its just- The business you run. They really, really don't like it. You did sort of kill an important member of this.. society.. situation. So.."
"Of course." The poisonous tone she used made him back up a bit, as she turned around and went to a door behind her.
"What are you doing?" He followed, curious. He hadn't even noticed the door before this.
"We're going to need weapons, aren't we?" He nodded, letting her unlock and open the door as he stepped back, worried about what was going to be in the room. Once she had gone inside, Aksu peeked into the doorway, his jaw dropping at the sight.
"I'm sorry- Since when have you built robots?" He asked, stepping into the room. The lights were dim, but broken, half-built, or barely-there bodies of robots stood, or laid, all around, with only one fully built one standing off in the corner. An array of mechanical weapons filled one wall of the room, too, as Astrum approached it, muttering something to herself in Spanish.
"You really are clueless." She said, taking a large gun-like object off of the wall. "I've always done this. That one in the corner did try to kill you once, you know."
"I don't feel safe here, Rose." He said, shifting away from the walls and trying to stay in a more empty part of the room. Everything looked like it would just.. pop up randomly, and start mauling him. He did not like the feeling of impending doom.
"Thats my goal."
