Cowering behind her brother Alexis couldn't stop the screams from coming. Her heart pounding in her chest did nothing to help to stop the vampires from ripping apart their parents.

Callum knew he could distract the two advancing on him but it would mean the end of his life. He was only two years older than Alexis, but he'd do anything for her. Turning to his sister he desperately tried to stop her screaming.

"Lexie listen to me." He gripped her face making her look at him rather than the horror show behind him. "I need you to go into our secret spot okay? Go and don't come out until the sun is high in the sky."

"Come with me." She pleaded with him.

"You are the best little sister in the world. Just remember how much I love you okay? Now go!" He kissed her swiftly on the forehead before ushering her out.

The second she was out of sight Callum let the tears fall. He'd lost his parents, he couldn't lose her too.

"Callum no! NOO!"

Bobby came barrelling into the room knowing all too well the sounds of her nightmares. He knew better than to wake her too quickly, that would just result in both of them injured.

"Alexis darlin' I need you to listen to my voice."

Her body stopped shaking but the screaming didn't.

"Alexis please. You're safe, it's over." Bobby gently pushed the sweat soaked hair out of her face. "Come on my sweet girl."

Slowly but surely he managed to pull her round, sighing as her eyes fluttered open.

"Bobby?" She croaked, feeling the tears and sweat on her face. "It happened again didn't it."

"Yeah. Wanna talk about it?"

She shook her head, she couldn't talk about it. Not once had she opened up to anyone of the horrors she'd seen that night. It only brought her back to that scared fifteen year old girl. She couldn't afford to be her anymore so in true hunter fashion she locked it away.

"Try and get some more sleep okay? You know where I am if you need me."

Bobby knew he wouldn't sleep anymore but she didn't need that guilt. He'd stay awake, brush up on some lore and hope she would find a way to deal with her nightmare in her own way.

Alexis waited until Bobby was out of sight before she let out a frustrated groan. It had been a few months since her last nightmare. She knew what had triggered it, the guitar she picked up earlier. She'd gone to bed hoping he would've been proud of her. Something she wouldn't let herself worry about again.

For what seemed like hours she laid in the bed staring at the ceiling. She was debating whether to give up and go drown herself in copious amounts of coffee, when her phone lit up.

Job finished. Want me to meet you at roadhouse? D

She smiled guessing Sam had given him her number. Right now she needed a distraction and she couldn't think of anything better.

What are you doing right now?

She watched the three little dots in the corner waiting for his reply.

Avoiding Sammy's snoring. You didn't answer the question.

You at the motel?

The three dots appeared and disappeared a few times before her phone started ringing. She let it ring a few times before she answered it.
