Naruto and gaara dated all trought middle school. They was known as the schools best couple most likely to last. Gaara's family was a major in another village. Gaara's father was the kazekage. The leader of all the business in the village. He was the youngest of the 3 chikdren he had so spoiled him. Gaara was naruto senior by 2 years. So while naruto was only 13. Gaara was 15.
Naruto was waiting for gaara at th park they usually meet at. But gaara was unusually late. Naruto waited for 2 hours. He was about to leave when he saw gaara. He smiled and ran to him.
