The moon was full, shining down on a city deep in sleep. The air felt still and the rain puddles on the streets reflected the street lights that nobody stood under.
Above the soaked streets, a young woman was running from rooftop to rooftop. Following behind was a figure in all white, the lower end of a trench coat flapping with the rush.
After a few more leaps, fatigue began to set in. The prey stumbled onto the gravelly rooftop and had very little strength to pick herself up.
"You can't run or hide," the hooded figure said. "Your friends tried. Even the fast one. All of them met the same fate."
"Get away from me!" Alyx yelled, forming a giant hand to slap away the threat. Sadly, the hunter walked through the attack without so much of a flinch.
"You're too weak right now to fight. It's over."
Alyx lay on her back, her breath as heavy as bricks. The man in white confidently approached, looking at the young woman.
"Am... Am I the last one?" she asked.
"Yes... The last of your group. After you, I will be off to the place this all began. East Coast Academy."
"M-Mr. Cord-"
"Will never know what hit him."
"Who are you?" Alyx gasped before being grabbed.
"The one he left behind."
