When nights were at their darkest and times seemed the most despair inducing there were people who could fight against these evils. Kou Minamoto was one of those people born into the Minamoto clan.
He was the middle child, with an extraordinary older brother and a naturally talented younger sister. That left him in the middle. While Kou might not have been the strongest he sure was enthusiastic.
Kou gripped tightly around his staff. He had potential, that's what he had heard so he would continue to try his best to destroy supernaturals. His hand injuries showed that he still had room to grow but nonetheless Kou powered through.
That's what brought him to this point. Kou was on a mission to exorcise a ghost, one that had apparently been causing trouble. It was late, the sun had already gone down, a perfect time for pesky spirits to be out and about. Kou walked quietly around the sighting area, a small spot just outside the village. There he hoped the ghost would make contact giving him a chance to get them.
The previous nights his older brother had been staying up so late to help take care the spirit problems, both within and outside of town. The reason why Kou was doing this mission was that he wanted to give Teru a break from the nonstop going and fighting so now he could finally get some needed rest before having to go to school.

It hadn't been long since the newly spirited, Mitsuba had met a terrible fate, an unnamed accident occurred sometime outside of the school he had been attending which had left a scar on the back of his neck yet it was hidden mostly by his scarf that was also burnt on one end, he also had a bunch of scars on his left hand but that was also hidden by his sweater.
Even after the accident most people had barely remembered it and even completely forgot about the feminine looking male despite trying to make some friends while still alive. This one thing was what kept him still roaming around on the earth, trying to find someone that had remembered him, or even just recognized his face so he could just leave that awful place.
The small male had been wondering around trying to grab the attention of anyone he had encountered, though not all people had seen him and when they did they just ran off screaming or crying since he was a spirit after all and in their eyes he was a lot more distorted looking then he realized. They had left Mitsuba just standing there many times and all he would have to do was just try to find someone else.
It had become dark out and there was barely anyone around for him to try to speak with, soon the pink haired male let out a sigh as he slowed down with his floating around. Despite being a spirit, he was still pretty tired out from listening to most of the people scream and cry all day.

Kou had made a vowel to himself that he'd catch the ghost that lurked around here. The sightings hadn't been too extreme, maybe that's why Kou felt so good about his mission. This was just typical ghost stuff.
He debated yelling out to the spirit but perhaps that wasn't the best idea. The boy didn't want to risk the ghost getting away. So, he kept stalking along keeping an eye out.
It was in that moment he saw something floating in the distance. "There you are!" He exclaimed, clutching tightly onto his spirit staff prepared to use it. In all honesty he was still a beginner at that, the marks on his hands proof of that yet he still continued to practice and use it.

The male stayed there for a moment, taking in the quiet night and thinking to himself for a bit "jeez..why doesn't anyone remember who i am...i haven't been dead for that long.." he spoke out, muttering softly to himself as he crossed his arms. It wasn't fair that he had to be stuck in such a place yet as unfair as it was, he was still there having to deal with it and the people that ran scared.
It wasn't long before Mitsuba heard someone call out from behind him, making him turn his head to see who it was. Was it finally someone who could see him and wasn't terrified? What a relief he had thought in the beginning.
When the male had turned completely around, he could instantly tell that this wasn't someone that was gonna be nice to him, the kid had what seemed like a weapon in his hand and he was in a fighting stance causing him to take a step back while shouting back at him "S-stay back, don't come near me!" His voice trembled like a scared little puppy that tried to appear threatening.
