I wake up and this time the sunlight is beaming through the window but that isn't the first thing I notice. Rachael is laying beside me on her stomach with her chin resting on her hand. Her eyes are on me. When she sees that my eyes have opened she grins.

"𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨" 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦.

Her voice is soft and Jesus Christ it's hot. I acknowledge her with a big toothy smile which makes her giggle. The sound is heavenly. I soak her in tracing her jaw with my eyes and wishing I had the time to count every single one of her freckles. I admire the way the sun makes her skin glow and imagine how it would feel to pull her to me right now and hold her close. I imagine the way it would feel to have her bare skin pressed up against mine. I start to imagine another scenario when my thoughts are suddenly interrupted. Rachael is now moving closer to me. My heart pounds as the distance between us grows smaller. She is so close that I can feel her breath on my cheek and smell 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚐𝚑𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚝 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚞𝚖𝚎. The familiar texture of her soft lips meets my left cheek and I can feel her smile against it. She pulls away an inch before rising a little. Her lips then meet the centre of my forehead causing my heart to explode. I am a tad distracted by her chest though that happens to be a few centimetres away from my mouth. I grab her by the waist and pull her closer to me causing her to lose her balance and land half on top of me. We laugh as I grip her gently and flip her placing me on top. I smile down at her and she fires back a euphoric grin. I bring my face down closer to her chest and place kisses around her heart. I can feel her heartbeat against my lips. I slowly bring my face closer to hers and make a trail of kisses leading up her neck. I place a single kiss on her right cheek and then bring my lips down her face a kiss her chin. I roll off her and lay on my stomach now resting my chin on my hand.

"𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜" 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙮.

She understands and flashes me a big toothy smile. I laugh and wrap my arms around her. She flips onto her side and leans into me. Our bodies connect like puzzle pieces. My boobs are pressed against her back. I trace circles on her shoulder with my finger. We are quiet for a few minutes but the silence is far from awkward.

"𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮?" 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙮.

She turns to face me.

"𝘐 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺. 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬. 𝘞𝘩𝘺?"

*𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐲/𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲*

But as I look into her kind eyes the words just come tumbling out of my mouth. I sit up.

"𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙗 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙧. 𝙄 𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙣. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩-"

I stop when I see the look on her face. She is grinning from ear to ear. She thinks I'm stupid, doesn't she? My face heats up with embarrassment. Obviously, she doesn't want to go to a fair because she isn't 12. I look away from her. I'm such an idiot. Why would I ever think she would want-

"𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦?"

I look back at her in confusion. She is sitting up now as well. I let out a breath of relief.

"𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙮"

"𝘖𝘩 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴" 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴.

I knew it was. But before I can say anything out loud she opens her mouth to speak.

"𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵. 𝘈𝘭𝘴𝘰, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘵 10𝘹 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦."

I have butterflies. Her words flushed away a build-up of anxiety that I didn't even realise was there.

"𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮"

She falls back onto her pillow giggling. I smile at her and then lean down to press my lips to hers. The games and the lights can wait a little longer...
