Gemini POV

St.Paul Children's hospital

Kidness begins with understanding that everyone struggles. I'm Gemini, and I'd like you to know that I am kind. When I was six, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoid leukaemia. It wasn't serious until I was twelve- I understood how serious it was.
It is a form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow caused by my body producing immature blood cells instead of mature ones. Now you know what I mean. Although I've spent over five years at the damn hospital, I'm proud to say I know it as the old doctors do. Whenever I sit at my desk or watch a drama or interesting conversation, this is usually my favourite time. Today was one of those days when I heard something unusual:

" Don't do anything stupid anymore- I told you she had a normal blood pressure level." said a familiar voice.

"But I saw it on YouTube where it worked." the girl's voice responded, irritated.

It's probably Barbara telling my best friend Aquarius not to help me with the biology knowledge she learned from YouTube. Typical Aquarius- not even surprised- I would say. What followed Aquarius' voice was something else.

"Code red. We have a patient in critical condition. He requires surgery immediately." echoed a young nurse's voice through my room door.

Something bad happened

Standing up, I open the door and see a bloody, crumpled body of a boy. There was a large amount of blood flowing from his head, his legs were bleeding intensely, and he also had a fractured arm.

My eyes shifted to a girl trying to get through the crowd screaming someone by name Scorpio:

" That's my friend, please let me pass."

The hallway fell silent as everyone rushed to the girl.

Cancer POV

It is my fault. I should have taken his keys away because I must have been at fault for letting him drive drunk. Flashbacks of the party last night flood my mind.

" Scorpio-William Smith, bring your ass here now," I shouted as I ran after him, holding my drink cup.

"Don't worry so much Cancy it is going to be fine," replied Scorpio holding the key to his car.

Trying to grab his car keys as I warned him,
"Don't you dare go to the car -or I will have    to call Leo."

Scorpio laughed as he opened the car door: "Call Leo to fix your little boo-boo."

"Ugh, you little bug!" I yelled and grabbed onto his body to try to stop him.

"Fuck, this looks so wrong," I mutter through my teeth.

" Awww so I'm your bug," a drunk Scorpio's voice said, leaning to kiss me.

I quickly drew back and held him tight. "You're drunk-stay away from me," I said madly.

"FINE," Scorpio responded after pulling himself away and getting into a car.

"Fucking hell." I swore as I knocked on the car window.

" Scorpio, open the damn door!" I bang on the window screaming tears in my eyes.
"PLEASE HELP ME, HE IS GOING TO DRIVE."

"See you later, sweetheart. " Scorpio said as he drove away.

My eyes open as tears fall down my face. I saw a young girl with brown curly hair and hazel eyes as she comforted me:
"Please calm down, your friend will be okay, we will help him." 

"It's my fault that he is hurt," I screamed, feeling my broken voice echo down the hall.

That young doctor looked at the other doctor and nodded in agreement, turning back to me and quietly saying,
"We'll do what we can to help him.
"Right now, he needs surgery." 

I look down and see tears falling to the floor.

"He will survive," said the doctor's voice.

I nod, trying to get up, but my legs shake. I felt hands around my body urging me up.

"Shh, it's alright, I'm Dr Williams, but you can call me Libra. I'll help you, okay," she said and helped me to sit down.

I smile, clenching my nails on my thighs, asking for water from that friendly nurse: "I-I need water," I say.

She hands me water already. I sip it, trying to calm myself.

"What's the matter, Libra?" I heard someone ask from the doorway.

" Gemini, to your room, Barbara, will explain," Libra responded as she put a blanket over me

"Okay," the girl's voice said as she closed her door.

"Who was that and why she was bald," I asked.

" Gemini is a girl who suffers from a horrible case of lymphoid leukaemia." Dr.Williams said,as she rub my thigts and hum.

I look at the door that just shut and silently say, "Oh."

I cannot imagine all the pain her friends go through and how strong they must be. I should as well, for Scorpio.
