"Race you to the window seat!" [Name] called, quickly running towards Sherry's seat C.
"Wha-" Dre's mouth hung open as he halted his steps, "Since when do you speak Chinese?" Dre asked.
"Since We took Chinese lessons?" Sherry nodded and sat next to [Name] on B seat while Dre sat next to Sherry on A. "What?" Dre scrunched his nose in confusion, looking at Sherry who was looking at her laptop.
"Your sister is already on Lesson thirty-two." Dre glared at [Name] who gave a playful smirk, "How are you?" Sherry practice, nodding at Dre to let him know she was learning too. "How are you?" Sherry translated before pressing enter that took her to another phrase, "What's your name?" Sherry smiled and took a quick glance to Dre who was now grumpy, "Do you remember what that one is?" Sherry asked.
"No." Dre responded, staring at the tour guide book. "Dre, you're killing me." Sherry sighed while [Name] stroke Sherry's arm to comfort.
Dre opened the book and pointed at a shrines and people, "Mom, look." [Name] poked her head from Sherry's shoulder to look at whatever her brother was pointing, "Everything in China is old. There's old houses, old parks, old people."
"Look," Dre scooted closer to Sherry and placed the book close to the laptop so [Name] could also see, "This guy is at least four hundred years old."
Sherry sighed and shook her head, she was not in the mood to be scolding Dre. [Name] couldn't blame Dre, she felt the same but they were different. [Name] prepared herself for the huge impact while Dre could never let go, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt the girl to be leaving her friends and family behind.
"Dre, Please focus. Okay?" Sherry asked making Dre quickly close the book, "What is you're name?" Sherry emphasized, looking at Dre before pausing.
"What's your name?" Dre pursed his lips before looking back at the book, "It's actually your not you're." [Name] corrected Sherry's pronunciation, Sherry smiled and nodded before placing a hand on [Name]'s head.
"Thanks, Baby." Sherry smiled before rolling her eyes at Dre, "You need to practice, Dre." Sherry sighed before nodding, "Yeah, You need to try it!" She said with more force to which Dre disagrees, "No, Mom!" This time it was Sherry's time to disagree.
"Yes, Dre-..."
"Mom-"
"Dre, Dre, Dre..." Sherry's eyes widen in frustration before looking around, Sherry secretly pointed towards a man to which she assumed was chinese.
"Ask him," Sherry forced, [Name] on the other hand was placing her hands on her mouth to cover her chuckles. "What's your name and how are you doing." Sherry said through her gritted teeth, Dre grumpily glared at Sherry before turning away to face the man. Dre better start doing what Sherry tells him before he gets a wooping once they land.
"How...are you..?" Dre asked with such poor pronunciation which made [Name] cringe at her own brother, she quickly looked away and turned to face the window. "What's...your...name" The man stared at Dre before leaning in a little.
"Dude," he called before blinking, "I'm from Detroit." Dre awkwardly stared at the man, "Oh...uh," Dre nodded his head, "What's up?" He asked making the man shrug.
Dre quickly turned his head back to face Sherry, "How'd it go, Champ?" [Name] asked making Dre shake his head, "Yeah, Mom assumed the man was chinese, but turns out he's from Detroit." [Name] laughed earning a playful smack from Dre to which Sherry gasped because she was the one getting hit, "Hey!"
The flight was super boring and long, It made [Name] do silly things since she's bored. The girl would go to the bathroom every hour or two but never stayed long because every time she flushes the toilet, it scared the living shit out of her so she'd quickly press the button to flush before running out; same goes to Dre.
Sherry and [Name] ended up exchanging seats because the cousins/siblings would end up playfully fighting and playing now and then. Dre was thankful he had someone to call sister despite the fact he's always spending time with their other male cousins. Dre likes the feeling of someone, who shares the same pains as him, being with him through all this.
Night came but they still haven't arrived in China. [Name] slept like a rock through the night, she'd place her head on Sherry's shoulder and Dre would place his head on his sister's lap. They did weird sleeping poses in order to get comfortable but nothing worked.
"Hey," Dre hispered, poking [Name]'s shoulder. The girl fluttered her eyes open and turned her gaze to Dre, the lights were off which meant [Name] can't see shit."Are you awake?" Dre asked. [Name] groaned in response before rubbing her eyes, "I am now." [Name] whispered, she didn't have the energy to stretch so she just turned her head around to face Dre.
"What do you think China will be like?" Dre questioned, curious. "I don't know," [Name] shrugged as a response, "Hopefully it's not full of old parks and old people." The two chuckled before wasting their time talking about the subject, China.
The two didn't even realize the sun has already risen. [Name] gazed out the window to see buildings and faint lights, "Mom, Look!" Sherry opened her eyes before looking out the window, The Parker's eyes widen at the sight of large buildings and the beautiful view of China.
As the plane carefully landed, Dre and [Name] opened the overhead bin to grab their bags and luggages.
Inside the port was crowded and it was foreign to the three, "Mom, Dre, Look!" [Name] slightly tugged on Sherry's sleeve to point at a large statue of four dragons holding an armillary sphere. It amazed her to see a statue of a dragon two times bigger than her, usually she only sees pictures of dragons on calendars or through the internet.
The three were pushing their luggages and bags around to find, "She said to meet her at number five." Sherry said, looking at a small paper in her hand.
"Mrs. Paker?" A voice called, [Name] looked around to spot a woman holding a peice of paper with written letters spelled 'Mrs. Packer' to which Dre and [Name] chuckle to see the other smiling.
"Oh-" Sherry gasped, walking over to the woman. "I-It's Parker." Sherry corrected, "A-Apologies, Mrs. Parker." The woman held out her hand for Sherry to shake, which Sherry gladly shook.
"Welcome to Beijing!"
