Lots of regret raced through Cheng's head, he didn't say it.
"Was it really necessary to run after Dre?" [Name] finally spoke, hugging herself gently. "I thought so but uh..." he mumbled, looking at his feet.
"Then was it necessary to leave me alone?" [Name] asked, her voice was now harsh making Cheng flinch. The boy stayed silent, unsure of what to respond.
"We had fun, together. At least, that's what I thought because If you did, you wouldn't have left me alone just to protect Meiying when she's not even in despair." [Name] didn't want to sound dramatic but she was hurt, she really liked Cheng but knowing that he'd look the other way, it pained her.
"I know. I'm sorry, I got jealous." The girl chuckled, "Jealousy is not an excuse, boy." Cheng scratched his head and stomped his feet, "Even if it was, I just-...hate it when she's with someone else!"
[Name] gasped and stopped walking, "Are you serious! You're the one who asked me to be here!" Cheng pursed his lips, knowing it was true. The boy didn't know what to react or what to say, "It's not my fault you have a crush on me!"
[Name]'s face was now tinted red, Cheng's ears turned pink; Was it really that obvious or have they just figured it right now? Both teens stared into each other's eyes, the quiet road made the tension between the two even more tense.
Cheng's cheeks turned red, he held his breath and blinked his subtle tears away. [Name]'s eyes widened, "You're scared of that, aren't you?" She asked, slowly walking towards the boy.
"I do like you," Cheng admitted, "But, I'm a bully, I know that. You knew the first day we met, No matter what I do. You'll always think of me as the bully," Cheng explained, not wanting to burst into tears.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you. I've done it again and again so what's the point of being mad at me now?" [Name] bit her lip and shook her head,
"I think I can love you."
"I still think, I can love you."
Cheng looked up and stared at [Name], their hands made its way intertwined with each other. For a few days, [Name] liked hanging with Cheng but she hated how both of them were unsure.
"Let's spend some time apart, okay?" [Name] said, "I'll cool down. I am mad at you." She smiled, wanting to lighten up the mood. "You, take your time." [Name] pointed at the boy, mentioning the unsure feelings he had for both Meiying and [Name].
"A kiss for 'See you soon'..?" Cheng whispered, [Name] chuckled and then...
You could smell the pastry as you close your eyes, Maybe even the smell of rain. Cheng placed his hands on her waist, pulling her closer, though wanting her to be his. Suddenly, both felt the first drop. It was like a kiss. The sky was kissing them. It was a nice thought, something both of them had thought. They felt another drop and then another. A kiss. A kiss. And then another kiss.
"See you soon.."
