It's my second day in Michigan and I'm on my way to see a good friend of mine, Dr Eli James. He has always been the one to patch me up whenever I got scratched which isn't a lot. But this wasn't one of those visits. This is more a friendly visit. As I pull to the parking lot of Hope Medical I started to feel uneasy and so was my wolf. This has never happened before.
Ever.
I slowly got out of my car, the unease I felt kept increasing with each passing second. What could be wrong that I feel this way? Could my mate be nearby? I go inside the hospital and found the information desk as I got in. The nurse at the desk was on the phone but when she saw me hung up.
" Hi. "
She says with a sheepish grin. I roll my eyes at her attempt at flirting with me. Still being professional, I remained polite.
" Hi, I'm here to see Dr Eli James please. "
I say in my all-business tone.
She nods and then picks up the phone. She must be calling Eli.
" Doctor There is a Mr--- "
She looks at me silently asking me for my name.
" Dante Silver. "
I say, and she repeats my name to Eli on the phone and before I could say Rouge. Eli was walking down the hall towards me. I smile as I see my old friend.
" Eli. "
I say walking toward him and pulling him into a manly hug.
" Dante, my friend what brings you here?
Eli says after our hug. I sigh and then tell him the truth.
" Honestly Eli I needed--- "
I began to say but stopped when the scent of my mate hits my nose. The scent of honey and wild roses.
" Mate. "
I say and then I looked around the hall and then I saw a door. The scent was coming from there. I was about to open the door when Eli stops me.
" Dante wait. "
He says an involuntary growl leaves my lips. My wolf wanted to see his mate and so did I.
" Why? "
I questioned.
" If my patient is indeed your mate there are things that you need to know. "
Eli explains.
I nod. This must be important otherwise Eli wouldn't have stopped me.
" I'm listening. "
I say annoyance clearly in my voice.
" Bailey is your mate then there are things you must know, first off is that she is a white wolf. And secondly, she is in wolf form right now because she doesn't trust anyone. And she's hurt but she won't let me help her."
Eli explains.
" I'm her mate Eli and I need to go in there and be there for her. "
I say around a lump I didn't know formed in my throat. I felt the pain to know that someone would hurt my mate. Eli nods in understanding and allows me to go inside.
When I go in my mate growls a low growl.
Her wolf is beautiful. The most beautiful thing I have ever seen in all my years. I slowly walk toward her holding my hands up to let her know that I mean no harm. She stops growling and looks at me making sure not to take her eyes off of me.
" Hi mate, this is not how I expected to meet you but it will have to do. My name is Dante Silver. "
I say introducing myself.
She studies me yet again before she shifts back into human form. She is beautiful in each way. Her beautiful blue eyes stood out the most in human form.
" Hi. "
She murmurs.
" Hi. " I say with a bright smile.
My mate was now in human form and speaking to me. It felt great. I needed to get Eli in her but first. I took off my shirt and handed it to her.
" Put this on. "
I say gently.
She takes my t-shirt and I smile even more. She puts it on and then I call for Eli. He comes in moments after.
" Hi, Bailey. "
Eli says as he comes in.
" Hi, Dr Eli. "
Bailey says back.
Hearing her call another wolf's name made me growl. She flinches and I regret it the last thing I want is for my mate to be scared of me.
" I'm sorry Baby. "
I say feeling like an idiot. I apologize to her and now I looked to Eli for answers.
" How do you know my mate? "
I asked trying to stay cool.
" I have treated her many times the pack where she comes from has a ruthless and it has a cold Alpha. He makes other pack members treat your mate poorly. "
Eli explains.
I couldn't stop the growl from leaving my chest this time.
" That changes today. She's not going back to them. "
I say my words sounding harsh as I said them. I look to my mate and then to Eli.
" Treat her. I'm going for a run I won't be far."
I say to Eli and I left.

I came back from my run I was calm but still fuming I was now dressed just in my vest and jeans. The reception desk nurse and nurses gawked at me as I walked down the hall back to my Mate's room. I was inches away from the door when I heard Eli and my mate talking.
" Do you think he would want me? "
She asked Eli.
" Of Course Dante wants you. He has been waiting for his mate for a very long time. "
Eli says and I smile. My friend knows me and he knows I would never reject my mate. I take a minute and then I opened the door and went in.
" Hey Baby, I hope I didn't keep you waiting."
I say walking casually towards her bed. She looks a lot better than when I left. Eli must have treated her injury.
" No. "
She murmurs in response to my question. I smile.
" Ready to go home. "
I asked.
" I have no home, I don't want to go back to a pack where no one wants me there. "
She says, she's upset and I don't blame her. I would be too. I am upset.
" How could they not? "
I ask fighting back the urge to growl.
" The fact that I am a white wolf makes everyone afraid of me. "
She explains.
I realize that she was no longer murmuring she was now speaking with strength.
" I know you don't want to go back but we have to get your things."
I lied.
I could get her anything she wanted money wasn't something I lack. What I want is for her to go back and face her demons but this time I will be with her.
" You're right. "
She says agreeing with me.
