Cinderkit awoke in the nursery. She felt so happy , as always. She leaped onto her felt energy burning in her like electricity. She looked beside her. "Mama is my apprentince ceremony today?" Asked Cinderkit. "No...its in a quarter moon." Cinderkit's mother , Moonflower replied. "Why not today?" Cinderkit asked. "You must be six moons old." Replied her mother. Cinderkit looked back trying to find her littermate , Whitekit. Cinderkit couldn't find him. "Weres Whitekit?" Asked Cinderkit. Moonflower sighed. Cinderkit looked up at her curiously. "He's asleep... Forever." Cinderkit didn't understand. "Is he happy?" Asked Cinderkit with a small tear of knowing that she lost her brother. Cinderkit was happy he was alive thought. "Very." Her mother replied looking back at her with tears purring down. "Then I'm happy for him..." Replied Cinderkit sniffling with sadness. "Why don't you go play with the other kits?" Asked her mom. Cinderkit looked up then sighed. "Okay." Cinderkit padded over to Redkit , he was right beside her. "Hi!" Cinderkit meowed cheerfully. "Hi." Redkit responded. "Wanna play fight?" Asked Cinderkit. Cinderkit wanted to push the thoughts about her brother behind her but she just couldn't. Cinderkit fell under and easily lost still in thoughts about her brother. "Whats wrong?" Asked Redkit. "My brothers gone... I dont know why he left!" Cinderkit wailed tears flowing down her cheeks. Redkit was a quarter moon older then Cinderkit , Redkit understand more things. "Can you keep a secret?" Asked Redkit. "Yes." Sniffled Cinderkit. Redkit sighed. "Don't tell your parents i told you this... They didint want you to know but... Your brothers dead." Redkit explained with a soft tear. "What?!" Exclaimed Cinderkit. "I'm not lying..." Redkit replied. Cinderkit ran out of the nursery her head swirling with thoughts. Her brother was dead! She would become an apprentice alone , a warrior alone. There was no hope of him coming back! Cinderkit cried into her paws. This cant be happening! She thought of all her memory's with her brother but it saddened her even more! He was gone! She would never see him again!
