Chapter 3: The Encounter

Hello, and welcome to chapter 3. I am so sorry for the 3 month gap, there were a lot of final exams, but as I am now on summer break I will be posting alot more. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy chapter 3.

While I looked calm on the outside as I walked to the food counter, I was in full panic mode on the inside. Do I leave right now? I mentally slapped myself. Calm down, you don't know if your position has been compromised yet. But deep down, you knew it had.

As soon as I grabbed a plate I could feel the eyes on me once again. And I made my third mistake of the evening, I tensed. I grabbed any foods I thought I could easily take with me if I needed to run. Which, so far, was the only smart thing I have done this evening.

I turned around to walk back to my room when I came face to face to a cloaked torso. In the calmest voice I could muster I said, "I'm sorry, am I in the way?" While saying this I started to slink away. "No." he spoke while he simultaneously grabbed my arm. "Oh, can I help you with anything then?" I asked. "Yes, tell me your name." He demanded. "Asahi" I lied. "Sunlight," he commented, "what an interesting name for someone with red hair." "Well I better get going, my foods going to get cold." I laughed dryly before ripping my arm out of his grip.

I proceeded to unceremoniously stumble back to my room, dump my food in my bag all the while shoving money onto the bed to pay for my stay. I then jumped out the window and booked it. Damn it! I should have known he saw the whiskers. I looked back to see Sasuke jump out of the window I just left. As soon as he located me he performed a fireball jutsu in my direction. I dodged it and used it to cover my escape. By the time the fireball jutsu died down I was miles away.

I made the trip home in only 2 days opposed to the 3 it took me to get there, I have my anxiety and adrenaline to thank for that. As soon as I was in the village I ran to the Hokage. Even though I knew I was probably going to get my ass handed to me by an angry Tsunade.

Still henged I burst through the door, causing every single anbu in the room to tense. Realizing my mistake I unhenged and explained what had happened. By the time I finished my recap she was as pale as a sheet, but that's not saying much as she was already really pale. "Shit" was all she said before dismissing me.

Its been about four months since that incident and everything has calmed down again. And as I had today off I was doing what I usually do when I'm alone, having an existential crisis. I looked at the time and realized that I need to check the time more often as, its midnight. Sighing, I got up and walked the short distance from the couch to my bed.

~1 hour later~

I have no excuse as to why I cannot sleep right now. Though apparently body had a completely different opinion.

After another restless half an hour, I got up to get a glass of water. As soon as I entered the kitchen I was hit by a very strong aroma. Turning on the lights, I looked around, only to see thousands of roses covering my kitchen.

In a panic I run to my door to leave my apartment, only to find it locked from the outside, which is impossible. I try fluctuating my chakra, in case I'm stuck in a genjustsu, but nothing changes. So I take the only logical next step...

 I dive out the window, which had nothing stopping me, much to my surprise. Though you won't hear me complaining. I hear a very familiar curse shouted from my apartment, apparently they did not think I would use the window as means to escape. That's their issue. I then run to the Hokage tower at speeds fueled by pure chakra. I climb the side and get in through the window, and thank Kami, the granny is in.
