Nikola Romanova, Hollywood's sweetheart of extraordinary beauty, living in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, always carrying herself with a smile on her face, had taken the role in an award-winning show in 2013, Attack on Titan. A show no one could've prepared her for.
No one could've prepared her for the deep heart aches and stupid feelings she'd develop for her fellow Co-Star and love interest after nine years of sharing the spotlight together. It was a curse— some kind of voodoo sworn upon her heart making her bleed for him. It consumed her insides— her head, her mind, she felt drawn to him, she'd catch herself staring at him and watching his every move, thinking of how much she'd like to call her best friend, hers. Stupid feelings! There's no space for love in Hollywood!
Even their closest friends could hear Nikolas' heart thumping against her chest every time the clueless boy would mindlessly flirt with her. How embarrassing! Yet he's still clueless!
There wasn't a way to hide her flushed face or her trembling hands whenever he'd act on impulses and would drag her to the middle of the dance floor. Or when his hand would brush past her own. Being a sucker for Tequila and a few good drinks would only send her into a ButMommy, I love him! frenzy— Oh, but she hated the word. Love! Love was so embarrassing! If she could manage to escape it, she'd rip her heart in half and squeeze out all her feelings for the dreamy green-eyed hottie who was a bit too clueless for her own taste... Or is he not?
But there wasn't any escaping their management when they had all written out the successful peaks of their career through a contract where the tiniest letters read out; dating for the public eye.
They had been played by puppeteers behind the stage during the first act of their story. Act one, a pair of puppets terribly in love with each other. All for the sake of money, money, money! What's a show worth if people don't watch it? Well, Nikola Romanova and Eren Jaeger had it under control!
It couldn't hurt her aching heart the slightest, could it? Money was involved! She'd buy herself joy again.
Their undeniable chemistry was the key to the show's last season's success. Them being held by strings from above really caught the eye of Hollywood-absorbed people. Perhaps a stash of cash or two did pay off for their extra job— Make them believe! It's not that hard for you two! You already act like a couple!
All-things-fake had consumed her lifestyle and she couldn't bear to believe her fantasy and fairytale was all an act. Every touch, every kiss, every sweet nothings whispered into her ear while everyone watched— fake, fake, fake! It was fresh snake poison intoxicating her veins and corrupting her mind.
The ink on the first page of her fairytale had spilled, staining the remaining pages of her book. The ink turned into poison, casting a dark aura throughout the entire story, leaving it to rot.
What she didn't know, was that he had held onto big scissors to cut off their Puppeteers' strings and set them free from their reins. He had gotten an opportunity to do so, but a big turn of events during their stunt carved a rocky pathway between the two.
