A blackbird lands on the bolt black street and tries to peck an old plastic bag. I watch it and follow its jumps and movements with my eyes. The kerbstone I'm sitting on is warm and sandy. I can feel the grains of sand. The blackbird jumps on the sidewalk, five meters next to me. I follow it with my eyes and turn my head. The bird jumps slowly closer to me and I fix it, tense my muscles and jump. After a short flight I land on the blackbird, I press its wings on the stone and with one bite, the neck broke with a loud crash. My ears twitch satisfied and I carry my prey through a gate and under the bench in front of a quaint house. It's my house, well, the one of my parents. I lick my paw and wash my ears, then I start to eat my prey. The bird tastes juicy and warm, the blood is spicy and the flesh tender. Although the feathers are bothersome blackbirds are my favourites. Much better than swallows or sparrows. After I finish my meal, I lick my paws again and wash my nose and my neck. Than I start to wash my back and my stomach until I come to the legs. Pleased, I lick my mouth and lay down under the bench. The day is nearly over, the sun goes down and there are some people walking on the sideway, obviously on their way home. I love it to watch them in their daily life. Some of them notice me and pipe or klick to get my attention but I ignore them elevated. They are so cute. A little girl walks over, her hand in her mothers' and as she discovers me, she starts screaming: "Mommy look the cute cat. Mommy, Mommy, am I allowed to touch her?"

The mother pulls her daughter past me in an annoyed way. I stand up and stretch my back, straddle my claws and jump on the bench. In front of me is an open window, just a bit higher than the back of the bench. Elegantly I jump into the window and walk inside, jump of the windowsill and land on the wooden floor of our living room. I look around just to be sure that no one's watching me, then I start my transformation. I whisper the secret verses and my body starts to tingle. A cold feeling rushes threw my legs, my stomach, my lungs and in my tail tip. Irritated by the dizziness of the transformation I cringe and then the bottom moves away from me and I grow faster and faster. My bones transform and sort themselves until I stand in the middle of the room. My brown hair falls over my shoulders and my toes palpate the ground. I look at my right hand and move my fingers. My legs tremble a little bit but that's quite normal after a long trip in the transformation. In the past six or seven ours my knees just had to carry half of my weight, now I just have two legs which must carry all of my body. Without any clothes I go out of the living room past the cheesy old couch and the unreasonably hideous commode of my grandmother. I don't know why my parents put it there after she died. Well, they thought she would like it if we take care of her heirlooms but actually, she can't know it, she's dead.

I take a look into the fridge and drink some milk out of the bottle then I go upstairs to take a shower. I love it to feel the water on my skin after a long trip. Tonight, there will be an important meeting in the Blackwood Forest, so I should sleep a little bit. I look on my feet and let the warm water run over my body. After a while I shampoo my hair and watch the lather rinse into the drain. Ten minutes later I rub myself dry and go into my room to find some pleasant clothes. I put on my jogging bottoms and a big oversize shirt and then I fall on my bed. Instantly my eyes devolve upon and I feel my tired muscles. That was a long day, although I have summer holidays. Honestly, school isn't really important for me. Not since last summer. Since I met Alice.

Alice... she's so nice. I have never met such a cool, beautiful and clever person. She's just perfect. Just before our summer holidays started last year, she joined our class. She moved from Portsmouth to Winchester. She looked so nice this day. She sat down next to me and after a few minutes, we talked about her last home and that her parents split up. We got along so well and in the summer holidays we often walked around the city and I showed her all the nice places. Then, one night as we chilled with some mates and drank a little bit, she revealed a secret which changed my life forever. In Portsmouth she was part of a group, a secret order that's called "Shadow walkers". They use metamorphosis to transform into cats after they did a ritual to get those powers. It's quite difficult and strange but after she told me, I weren't hesitating. That was my chance. I always wanted to be part of something big and now I am. The ritual was savage and cruel but I finally did. And I felt like I was reborn. It cost a lot of practice to control the transformation and I was really frustrated at the beginning but now it's awesome. And the order grew. We found more and more followers and these days we are about twenty-five members. Alice is our leader. And tonight, we will plan our next action. Slowly my thoughts turn into darkness and I fall asleep. I wake up as my mom walks into my room.
