Lux's POV
I was going out with my boyfriend and friends to a party. The normal for me on a Friday or Saturday.
It was really warm tonight but it always is in Cali.
"Yo Lux!"
"What's up Lane?"
"I'm ready for tonight. Last day of school lets do this." she said.
"I have to wait on Addy and Zoe and then Crash."
"okay. meet me there because I'm so ready for this."
"okay. bye."
After 10 minutes, I see my friends riding up in the driveway.
I lock my house and get in the car.
I kiss Crash and we leave.
we go to the Grainger's beach house.
I put on music and the first song was Na Na.
The girls sing along and I laugh at them.
The beach house was packed when we got there.
I go to the back to get drinks. I drink the beer and then I get some vodka. I know this is bad but whatever. we start dancing and then we play truth or dare.
"truth or dare Lux?"
"Dare my bitches."
"I dare you to kiss Lane."
"whatever."
I kiss Lane.
we keep playing for and hour and then we leave and go home.
Crash drops me off. I thank him.
I stumble up the steps and open the door.
my mom, step dad, and brother are all standing by the stairs.
"where were you?" my mom says.
"I was with Lane and and Addy and Zoe."
"come here. right now." my step dad says.
I walk to him and he smells my breath.
"unbelievable."
"what?" I ask.
"your drunk."
"and?"
"your 17. not 21. your underage."
"everyone does it."
"if everyone jumped off a bridge would you?"
"yeah I would. "
"Asher go upstairs." my step dad says.
my brother leaves and goes upstairs.
"why? why would you sneak out?" my mom says.
"because I am grounded almost every week and it's not fair. Asher is more favorable because he is smart. I am just a dumb fuck up that nobody cares about. that's why I hang out with who I do. I'm never going to change because I can't. and you can't make me change." I said running up the stairs.
"Lux come back here right now."
"no leave me alone."
I just want to leave. I want to go back to my old house and my old life. everything was so much better.
I call Lane to come over. Lane was always there for me and I was always there for her.
not even 5 minutes later she walks through my door.
"what's up?"
"they got mad because I came home drunk in front of my brother. also known as the worlds best child."
"I don't know what your going through but I promise I will always be here for you to vent. I will always listen. "
"it's not fair lane. they treat him so much better than me and I honestly can't take it."
she hugs me and I start to cry on her shoulder.
