Chapter 7

Third Person Pov:

After awhile of patching up Phoenix's wounds she told Rocket that they should build a few traps since Phoenix heard the ravagers we're near by. It was not night time the moons were shining up in the sky and you can just see nothing but darkness. -Got anything Phoen?- Rocket asked in sign language. -Nope nothing so far- she replied back in sign language. After a minute she then heard heavy footsteps coming from the distance. -They're here- she replied. The team of ravagers were now scouting the area not even knowing where Rocket and Phoenix could even be. One of the ravagers killed a spider and ate it making Phoenix nearly throw up.  Rocket chuckled. "I love this song" he said. Phoenix then saw one of the ravagers step on one of the traps and saw the darts that Rocket and her had implanted and next thing you know they all get shot with the darts. Phoenix then felt the worry that Groot felt after hearing the shooting of the guns from the ravagers. ::Don't worry Groot me and Rocket will be fine:: Phoenix thought as she was sending a message into Groot's mind and felt Groot calm down a little. As both Rocket and Phoenix heard the ravagers footsteps both of them got into the song and started humming to the rhythm a bit. Phoenix then sent a signal to Rocket saying to distract the ravagers. Rocket then started jumping from tree to tree and Phoenix flew into the air and pressed the buttons from the small little control and next thing they know the ravagers are then blown into the air. Phoenix laughed and continued pressing the buttons. Phoenix then followed Rocket to the next group of ravagers. Phoenix and Rocket were collecting small little electric gadgets that with the press of a button the gadgets will send an electric shock to all the ravagers. Rocket jumped on the ravagers heads and Phoenix did kinda the same thing but actually kinda doing it in a hand stand and once they were done with that they jumped back in the tree and pressed the button making all the ravagers get shocked making Rocket and Phoenix laugh. Rocket and Phoenix then jumped out of the tree landing safely. Although something didn't feel right. Rocket and Phoenix used they're sense of hearing and listened closely to they're surroundings. And by the corners of they're eyes two ravagers were on each of their sides. One on Rocket's one on Phoenix's. "Ain't so tough now without all your toys" The ravager one Phoenix's side said. "You underestimate us to much" Phoenix said. "And what are you gonna do" The ravager asked. Just as he said that Rocket took out the Ravager on his side and Phoenix took out the one on her side. Just then after that Rocket and Phoenix heard a whistle coming from the distance and they both knew they were screwed. The arrow then came flying threw the forest then stopped an inch away from Rocket and Phoenix. "Crap" they said in sync. Yondu then came out of no where and chuckled. "Hey there, Rat, hey there bird" Yondu said. "How's it going you big blue idiot" Phoenix said. "Not so bad" Yondu said. "We got ourselves a pretty good gig here" Yondu said. "This golden gal with quite a high opinion of herself has offered us a large sum to deliver you two and your pals over to her, cause she wants to kill ya'll" Yondu said. "Yeah no shit Sherlock" Phoenix said. As Yondu kept blabbing about the asshole Phoenix heard Nebula talking to Groot about freeing her just to d save Rocket and herself. ::Don't do it Groot she's just lying, why would she want to save us:: Phoenix said through Groot's mind. "I will tell the both of you, it was pretty easy to find you two" Yondu said. "I put a tracer on your ship back there during the war over Xandar" Yondu said. "Damn it I knew I should've checked" Phoenix mumbled. "Give us your word, you won't hurt Groot" Phoenix said with a serious glare. Phoenix sighed. "We'll tell you where the batteries are at" Phoenix said. Yondu chuckled. "Lucky for you two, my word don't mean squat" Yondu said. "Otherwise, I'd rather hand the both of you over" Yondu said. "We'll take them batteries. And we'll only take the rat" Yondu said. This made Phoenix's wings perk up. "No, No! Your not taking Rocket, you take Rocket you take me" Phoenix said. Yondu looked at Phoenix deep down inside he didn't want his niece to die and hearing her say this broke his heart that the ravagers thought never existed. "So be it, I would think you would wanna live but I guess you'd rather die" Yondu said. "I don't care whether I die or not, wherever Rocket goes I go, whatever Rocket does I do, if he dies..." Phoenix said then turned to Rocket. "I die" Phoenix said with a smile. Rocket felt his fur prick up a bit and felt his face go warm and slightly smiled back. "That ain't right!" A ravager shouted. "I just gotta say it this one time captain no matter how many times Quill betrays you or when that thing threatens you or tries to kill you" The ravager said as he pointed towards Phoenix. "You protect them like none of the rest of us matter" The ravager said. "Yeah!" The ravagers cheered. "I'm the one what sticks up for you!" Kraglin said. "Take it easy Kraglin" a ravager said. "Damn straight, lad he's gone soft." The ravager with the deep voice said. "And not only for Quill but also for this one right here!" The ravager said pointing towards Phoenix. "Hey I didn't do anything okay" Phoenix said. "Suppose it's time for a change in leadership" he said and everyone then started pointing they're guns at Yondu. "Put you damn Guns down!" A ravager yelled. "Whoa, Whoa!" Phoenix and Rocket exclaimed in sync. "There must be some kind of peaceful resolution to this fellas" Rocket said. "Or even a violent one where me and Rocket are standing over there" Phoenix said. Just as Yondu was about to shoot everyone with his arrow his small little device thing got shot off. And the person who shot it off was the one and only... Nebula. "Shit" Phoenix said. Just then Nebula shot Rocket and Phoenix and they both yelled in pain getting knocked out conscious. "Hello boys" Nebula said as she took a bite out of the piece of fruit just to spit it out. "It's not ripe" she said. ::Yeah what we kept on telling you, you big blue idiot asshole:: Phoenix thought through Nebula's mind. "Who is that!" Nebula said turning around.
