The faint sound of heels tapping against the cold pavement grew increasingly quieter as the four ladies approached the home, each of them buzzing with excitement except two, Veronica and Heather chandler who resented the party throwers Kurt and Ram almost as much as they did each other. Veronica despised their constant need for attention and validation and also the disgusting description they used to spill their vile thoughts that clearly shouldn't be shared in a public setting though it was obvious they hadn't a care in the world whilst Chandler simultaneously hated the way they spoke to or about her and her friends. Despite being known as stuck up and self centered she did have some sense of humanity and care for those who were genuinely nice to her. Veronica's brown hues analysed her surroundings to the best of her ability while becoming suddenly overwhelmed by simply everything, an expression of uncertain disgust appeared on her formerly sorrowful face.
Shivering bodies filled the dead grass outside the home under the pale moonlight covering almost the whole front yard, each clutching a red plastic cup that served as their only source of life for the night, though it was a mystery how they obtained them so frequently without actually entering the house, evidenced by the goosebumps that covered the few exposed arms and chests of drunken teenagers who moved against one another in an act of dance or so they thought while any sober person would have thought something much more indecent. The deafening music that had reverberated from each room in the unfamiliar home all the way to the outdoors that upset the poor neighbours who regrettably resided close to the school's well-known party animals muted the loud squeals of excitement and laughing on the porch.
Veronica's attention was shortly drawn to moving red fabric as she realised she had become disoriented. "Hey, where are you going?" she questioned. Her voice screamed as loudly as she could, attempting to oppose and overturn the music, which fought back valiantly. Heather turned with a look of confusion and disgust mixed into one as the brunette's fingers brushed over the material on her arm, behaving as if Veronica had just smeared food across the expensive fabric that draped across her doll-like form. Chandler replied to Veronica's question like it was the stupidest thing she had ever heard "Inside, duh. did you expect us to freeze out here? come on." A slightly irritated sigh forced itself past her cherry coloured lips as she struggled to find her way through the hundreds of bodies that clashed, pushing, pulling and grinding only to be awkwardly split up by the four girls.
As they passed through the crowded hallways, clutching each other in an attempt to pull themselves and one another out of the pool of warm bodies that posed as obstacles, they finally found a space free of any screaming or shouting, though it was nearly impossible to find a room that wasn't packed to the brim with drunken people as the bed rooms were occupied with couples and the living room seemed to be the main area where others stood around, occasionally dancing along to the songs but not to an irritating rate. "Jeez, this is such a blow," Veronica murmured, cringing slightly and deepening the bridge of her nose with deep wrinkles as she perched on the arm of a half-decent couch in what seemed to be the centre of the room, before meeting the Heathers Veronica much preferred to spend her free time laying around watching cheesy old romance movies or scribbing in her diary but now this was a whole new experience for her, she was no longer nerdy and geeky. Mcnamara sighed in agreement, her eyes rolling with annoyance just as a body shoved her forward unexpectedly, almost knocking her off her yellow heels if it weren't for her ability to catch herself. "Watch it!" she snapped back sharply, her brows furrowed, only to be met with a string of loud laughter before the male backed off and vanished back into the crowd without another word "Can't we just get out of here? we can just find another party or something--." Duke shrugged weakly and gazed at Heather Chandler not so confident in her suggestion, hoping for some form of acceptance or agreement, but instead the blonde scoffed and crossed her arms, remarking, "You're all so hard to please, you know you wouldn't even be here if it weren't for me." Her eyes were keen and pointed at the edge, ready to pierce the hearts of her next prey at any moment.
"I'm going to get something to drink." Mcnamara had no energy to argue back, knowing that it would be futile because no one could say no to Chandler, who ruled the entire school with an iron fist. Almost everyone idolised her and regarded her as some sort of Goddess of beauty and confidence, though it appeared that her kindness had been sacrificed. Heather Duke soon lifted her head at the mention of alcohol and cheered up, keeping a spring in her step as she returned to Mcnamara's side with a wide smile. "Would you like me to get you guys anything?" Of course, she was primarily asking Chandler, yet it was interpreted as a question for both of them, and they both declined. "The Heather Chandler not drinking at a party? What's up?" Veronica inquired, intrigued, because her friend's behaviour was unusual; Heather kept most things private, especially personal matters, so Veronica thought she would receive a true response. "I don't want a hangover tomorrow because I have to attend a family gathering—" She replied and shuffled over to sit on the couch beside Veronica, she seemed friendlier than usual making alarms ring in Veronica's ears wondering how long this act would continue and if there truly was something going on behind the layers of thick lipgloss and hairspray because no matter how many arguments the two endured together they were still technically friends.
The two leaned against the couch, staring blankly up at the ceiling, unsure why they were there if neither of them relished the company of the thousands of 'house guests' who had become boisterous and energetic quite quickly. Shattering glass and snapping sounds could be heard in the background, delighting Heather with pure joy that one of the boys, if not both, would end up in serious trouble for their lack of responsibility.. The blonde gently raised her head, slowly growing amused by the many people in front of her, as boredom faded away, allowing the music to coax her into standing and finally joining in letting the blasting bass guide her movements into the crowd. Mcnamara and Duke struggled to keep their balance while holding the drinks in trembling hands, fearful of the coloured liquid staining their brightly coloured clothes. They took cautious steps forward, weaving through the sloppy drunks who greeted them with lousy smirks, which they ignored in order to protect their expensive outfits, before returning to the couch and finding Veronica glancing around studying her surroundings mainly watching the jock who stood alone across from her, chugging back liquid from a large glass bottle that was clutched tightly in his huge fist, his hair sticking up in places probably due to the amount of times he had ran his fingers through it while attempting to get laid.
