Walking away was the only choice for someone like me in that situation. What else was I supposed to do, scream at him and act like a freaking one-year-old? No. I refuse to stoop to his level. With my belongings hastily packed in a suitcase, I left behind that cheating asshole of a boyfriend, the weight of betrayal heavy on my shoulders.
As I made my way towards the side of the road, a familiar voice called out to me, cutting through the haze of my emotions. "Sup, Sero," he said, his presence a comforting balm to my wounded soul.
"Sup, my dude," I replied, managing a weak smile. The scent of smoke that clung to him reminded me of countless nights spent in his company, finding solace in his unwavering friendship.
I let out a single tear, unable to conceal my true feelings from him. It was as if honesty was a side effect of our bond, impossible to hide even in the darkest of times.
"Why are ya crying? Who made you sad?" Sero's concern was evident in his voice, his gaze searching for answers.
".. Asshole," I whispered under my breath, the bitterness of betrayal still fresh in my mind.
"Asshole?... You mean Kaijo," Sero stated, his tone tinged with anger as he recognized the source of my pain.
I nodded, confirming his suspicions. "I caught him cheating on me."
Sero's eyes darkened as he noticed the scars that marred my body, painful reminders of the abuse I had endured at Kaijo's hands. "Imma kill that prick," he growled, his fists clenched in righteous fury.
Before he could act on his impulse, I reached out and pulled him into a tight embrace, seeking comfort in his familiar warmth. "Please just stay with me for a sec, Sero... I need someone. Don't go," I pleaded, my voice trembling with emotion.
He looked conflicted for a moment before relenting, wrapping his arms around me in a protective embrace. "Fine," he sighed, his voice softening with understanding.
"Wanna go get some ice cream?" Sero suggested, breaking the tension with a small smile.
I nodded, grateful for the distraction. "That sounds nice."
With Sero by my side, we made our way to the nearest ice cream store, the promise of sweet treats and the comfort of friendship easing the ache in my heart. As we entered Cold Rock, the sounds of familiar voices greeted us, laughter and banter filling the air.
"Kacchan FRICK YOU YA BITCH! AH, NO SHIT, I'M SORRY, KACCHANNN!"
"DEKU!"
Out ran Izuku, followed closely by Bakugo and Ayato, their presence a welcome sight in my moment of need. Seeing the tear stains on my cheeks, they pulled me into their arms, offering silent support and understanding.
As they pulled away, Izuku spoke up with a smile. "Ice cream, cookie and cream, right?" The others nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with warmth and affection.
"Thanks," I murmured, a sense of gratitude swelling in my chest.
Turning towards the counter, they exchanged knowing glances before Izuku spoke again. "We're your best friends. Of course, we have your back. Like we always say, 'Hoes before hoes.'"
Before I could respond, the warmth of their friendship enveloped me, reminding me that I was never alone, no matter how dark the days may seem.
