The Nohebi Volleyball Team were currently on the bus back from a day at the beach. The trip was requested by the team's captain, Suguru Daishou, as a way of letting the team have a break from volleyball practice and to relax and have fun.
Due to the long travel back, the boys had decided to do their own thing to entertain themselves, and to help calm down from the days excitement.
Hiroo was watching something on his phone. Sakishima was asleep listening to music with his head on Hiroo's shoulder. Akama and Seguro were watching something together on Akama's phone. Numai, Takachiho and Daishou were somehow playing 'Uno'. Kuguri had fallen asleep with his head on Daishou's shoulder whilst listening to his music.
Coach Ōmizu looked at the 8 boys behind him and smiled to himself. The day out must have really tired them out from all the excitement that happened, which started as soon as the boys got off the bus.
Once the bus had stopped near the beach and the boys were let off, Sakishima had immediately ran off somewhere which had caused the rest of the team to panic. This had then caused the rest of the team to spend about an hour looking for the setter. They had eventually found Sakishima near the ice cream stall.
Once they saw Sakishima, Daishou had immediately ran over to him. "What the hell were you doing, Isumi?!" Daishou had yelled once he got nearer to the setter.
"I wanted ice cream"
"And you couldn't have waited? You caused all of us to panic, Isumi. What if something had happened to you?!"
"Well, nothing happened..."
"Isumi, I swear to god I'm going to kill you one of these days!!"
By this time, Coach Ōmizu and the rest of the team had caught up to Daishou and Sakishima. Once Sakishima noticed the rest of the team he smirked, then yelled "Race you all to the beach!" and instantly started running in the direction of the beach.
The other 3rd years laughed and all started running after their friend. Akama and Seguro looked at one another, shrugged and started running after their upperclassmen. Kuguri just blinked at the antics of the 3rd and 2nd years. Coach Ōmizu just laughed at the behaviour of his chaotic team and started walking with Kuguri in the direction the others had run off in.
Once the whole team were on the beach, Akama and Seguro had immediately run into the sea and started messing around splashing each other. The 3rd years soon joined the 2nd years and soon enough there was a huge splash war going on between 7 high school kids.
Kuguri had decided to sit on a towel and be by himself. Well that was until Numai had snuck up on the unsuspecting 1st year and picked him up over his shoulder. Numai then carried the 1st year over to the sea and unceremoniously dumped him in the water. This had caused a huge water fight between all of the boys. They were all surprised that Kuguri was actually smiling and laughing alongside them.
Soon enough Coach Ōmizu called for the boys to dry off and change into their spare clothes.
Once the boys were all as dry as possible and wearing dry clothes, Coach Ōmizu took the boys to a small café close to the beach for lunch.
After lunch, the boys headed to the arcade and spent a couple of hours playing some of the games. Poor Kuguri ended up being dragged around to play some of the games by his upperclassmen.
By the time it was time to leave, Kuguri was almost falling asleep where he stood. Daishou noticed this and helped the youngest member stay standing.
Once on the bus, Kuguri pulled out his phone and put his music on and instantly fell asleep and his head fell onto Daishou's shoulder.
Which leads us to where we are currently...
Daishou looked at Kuguri to see him still sleeping peacefully against his shoulder. The team captain then decided to look at Akama and Seguro, who were still watching whatever it was on Akama's phone. Daishou then looked over at the two remaining, Hiroo was still watching whatever he was watching.
It was at this point that Daishou noticed Sakishima leaning against Hiroo's shoulder with his earphones in, sleeping just as peacefully as Kuguri was.
Daishou then got the attention of Numai and Takachiho, gesturing to Hiroo and Sakishima whilst trying not to wake up the sleeping 1st year leaning against him.
"Hey, Kouji!" Numai said, getting the attention of the Middle Blocker.
"Yeah?" Hiroo replied, looking back at his friends.
"What's Isumi listening to?" Daishou asked.
"One second, I'll have a look." Hiroo said and looked back to the sleeping setter.
Hiroo gently took Sakishima's phone out of his hand and pressed the power button. The first thing Hiroo noticed was Sakishima's lock screen; a picture of Isumi with a bright smile alongside his 3 older sisters. Hiroo smiled at the picture before remembering what he was doing.
Hiroo swiped over where the time was displayed and saw the title of the song Sakishima was listening to. Upon seeing the song title, Hiroo gently shook his head.
"I should have guessed that." Hiroo said to himself.
Daishou, Numai and Takachiho had heard Hiroo talk to himself and asked him what he meant.
"Isumi's listening to his Melanie Martinez playlist."
Hearing this, Daishou, Numai and Takachiho all sighed.
"Seriously, when is Isumi not listening to Melanie Martinez?" Takachiho started laughing, a bit too loudly and Daishou had to remind him of the sleeping 1st year on his shoulder and their sleeping setter that was leaning on Hiroo.
Coach Ōmizu chuckled to himself and shook his head. His team might be cunning on court, but off court they were a small chaotic bunch but they were his boys and he wouldn't have them any other way.
