I tried writting this from Hiroo's P.O.V.

School had started 2 weeks ago, I was now in my 3rd and final year at Nohebi Acadmey and I was happy to know that practice would be starting again.
After classes had finished for the day, I headed to the gym with Suguru since we were both in the same class. Once we got closer to the gym we saw our friends Kazuma, Yoshia and Isumi waiting for us outside.
The five of us headed to the club room to change into our practice uniform. After a few minutes, the now 2nd years, Akama and Seguro walked in.
After all 7 of us had finished changing, we all walked into the gym to see Coach Ōmizu waiting for us. Next to the coach stood a kid with messy pale brown hair and a tired expression. Coach introduced the new kid to us, saying he was a fisrt year and his name was Kuguri and that as of today he would be joining the club.
Kuguri looked around at all of us and when his eyes landed on me, I could have sworn I saw his eyes widen the smallest fraction in what looked like something equivalent to recognition. It was like this kid recognised me from somewhere, but the question is; where does he recognise me from?
Coach Ōmizu told us to introduce ourselves to Kuguri and when I said my name I swear I saw Kuguri's eyes widen in recognition again. Thinking about it, Kuguri's name sounded familiar and he looked familiar as well- like I had seen him somewhere before but I just couldn't place my finger on where I could have seen him before.
After practice had ended, we all headed to the club room and instead of changing we all sat down and shared what we did over summer break. I told everyone that I ended up buying a black snake and had bumped into someone whilst in the pet shop who was also buying a snake.
Once I said that, I heard a faint gasp come from Kuguri and it looks like the others heard him as well because we all looked at him.
Kuguri ended up telling us that during the summer break before he started school here that his older brother had took him to a pet shop to get him a corn snake and he ended up meeting someone in the snake section who was also buying a snake.
I remembered asking the kid I met at the pet shop what school they went to and them telling me that they were going into their first year at Nohebi Academy after the summer. I even remember telling the kid that I was going into my third year at the same school and had said to come find me if they needed any help with anything and told them my name and the kid had told me his name as well.
It was at this point that something inside my brain clicked and everything made sense. This was why Kuguri looked so familiar to me and why his name had also sounded familiar.
Kuguri was the kid I had met in the pet store over summer break!
It looks like the others had also come to the same conclusion as me, seeing as Akama practically yelled "You met Kuguri whislt you were both buying snakes?!" in my face.
I looked over to Kuguri and saw he was also looking at me and I could have sworn he gave me the faintest of smiles. That was the moment I told myself that for the rest of this year I would look after Kuguri. I even told Kuguri the same thing I did when I first met him; "If you ever need help with anything, come find me."
