jasmine wallace had only her younger brother to live for. with a mother in jail and a workaholic father, absent both physically and mentally, life isn't effortless, especially in the 80s. she doesn't have many friends, or any really, the only person she ever does hang out with is her younger brother and his friends on occasion.
they live in hawkins, a small little town in indiana. there's not much to do other than the arcade which after a while gets boring. the worst thing jasmine has seen? tommy h putting gum in chrissy cunningham's hair and she had to cut her blonde prized possession she had been growing out. hawkins, indiana, the town where nothing ever happens.
but.. then the lights keep flickering? jasmine is haunted by hallucinations? she doesn't know what's happening and before she finds out kids start to go missing. so what's her only other choice when her brother's best friend, will, goes missing other than to help find him? except when she does go looking, she finds more than she bargained for.
