"...huh?"
"I know right?!" An excited but skeptical look overcame Levi's face as he held Light even tighter. "Are you sure? Is it really that simple?" He nodded eagerly, as Levi ran a hand through his hair.
"Has it really been so obvious this whole time? It can't possibly be this easy right?" "I thought it was weird too, and then I tried it. When I lowered the sun I reached out and I felt it, Levi. I grabbed the string that attaches me to the sun." He searched Light's face for confirmation that this was real, that they had found a solution so quickly.
He found nothing but hope. And who was he to deny it from the one he loves, and his own pounding heart?
"Okay." He nodded, a smile growing on his face. "Alright.
Let's see what we can do."

Levi enjoyed his trips to the moon. They were calm and quiet, the emptiness of space strangely intriguing.
Tonight, said visit had a purpose.
After delaying the night for an extra minute or two, the couple came to the realization; that in order to be together, they might need to give up their immortality, and their godliness altogether. It was a price they were willing to pay.
They were going to cut the threads.
Or something like that. But he knew he needed to cut ties with his power, in order for this to work.
Levi had no clue how, exactly; but he had some sense on how to get there. Until then he took his time. The night was still young, and though he wanted to see his partner during the day as soon as possible, it would take time regardless.
He watched the stars go by, the planets spin ever so slowly. The trip wasn't long, so he relished it, stopping right before he landed and pulling out his notebook.
He made a quick, but detailed sketch of the wonders he encountered on his trip to the moon, along with the moon itself. He wanted to have a reminder of what this looked like.
It might be his last trip, after all.
Once satisfied, his flight resumed and before he knew it, he stepped onto familiar ground, dented terrain he knew by heart after visiting it so often. He realized how much stronger the magic truly felt, chalking it up to the proximity of the thread.
Light said he just reached out for it, I suppose I could try the same-?
Levi knelt down, running his hands over the surface of the moon. He closed his eyes, focusing on the feeling of power, the feeling of pulling the moon into the sky. Something brushed his hand, cool and almost feather-like. His heart skipped a beat, and he concentrated harder, searching for that feeling.
When it brushed against his palm again, he reached out, and quickly grabbed it, gently holding on. He opened his eyes, gasping at the strangely comforting sensation. He couldn't see the bond, but he could feel it weaving between his fingers and brushing over his palms. He knew it was there. He pulled at it ever so slightly, eyes widening when it tugged something in himself.
He felt something else, similar, but not exactly the same.
Is that… another bond?
He grabbed it. It was another bond, another thread. But this one was attaching the moon to the earth. It was incredibly weak compared to his, much too weak to be what held the two together.
Realization hit him, as he held the two strings. Oh.
This is why I'm attached to it. This is why I control the moon.
