“Thank God! Network is good!" Anokhi sighed after booking the Ola cab online.
“Hello! Yeah.... around what time can you reach me?" She called the cab driver.
“In 3 minutes, only if...." He paused. “Madam......cancel this ride. Pay me 250 fair, and I will drop you home." The driver continued, annoying her.
“What? Again? Why should I? It's 150 according to app statics!" Anokhi said.
“Your location is far away. No cab or auto would charge less than 300, you can barely spot them around. You better agree with my conditions!" He said demanding. “Else forget the ride and wait there for enternity!"
“Get lost! I'm not giving in again. I'm not cancelling the ride! You cancel it from your side." Anokhi ignored him and luckily got another cab for 170.
“I'm gonna complain for sure! They are looting people, unfaithful to owners too. How pathetic human race is getting day by day!" She mumbled ringing the doorbell.
However, she gave up on that thought, as drivers get meagre payment not enough to survive.“I wouldn't have cared, but I myself don't have any money! Calm down Anokhi, you are overreacting!"
“Inflation, government are responsible too. No, we, people ourselves are responsible! I hope it rained gold instead of acid."
“Calm down Anokhi! Calm down! You know how people are like! Calm down!"She closed her eyes, letting out a heavy breath.
“All good?" Her roommate Vansh asked opening the door.
“Yeah..." She whispered.
“Then why did you ring doorbell, instead of entering door lock!"
“Oops! Hehe, sorry to disturb you!"
“What about your audition? Did it go well?" Vansh sounded excited.
“I guess not!" He trailed off as she sat down on her yoga mat doing Sukhasana, to calm her mind.
“Nope, you can tell that by look on my face. That bakwas fellow didn't even give me a chance to showcase my skills!" She muttered after ten minutes.
“You had dinner? It's 8:30 already!" Vansh didn't wanna rub it in.
“Chill....I'm fine!" Anokhi assured.“How are classes going on?" She asked.
“Not bad! But handling some people is getting tough at times." Vansh said.
Both walked down the stairs and had dinner silently.
“Good night!" Vansh said drawing curtains parting the room into two as they went to bed.
“Good night roommate! Bad dreams!" Anokhi said staring at the ceiling with sole less yet beautiful eyes.
