The lighting in this place was irritating the minute I woke up.
"You're finally awake, Sleepyhead." A smile curved onto Peters lips. I placed my hand on the back of my head and winced in pain. Peter grabbed onto my wrist to lower my hand down.
"Nurse said you hit your head pretty hard. Any harder you would've suffered a heavy concussion. Guess you're just a lucky girl." He stared into my eyes as I slowly sat up. Memories also started to build up. "What did I do? D-Did I... Did I hurt...them?" My voice trembled.
He nodded sedately, letting his smile drop down a few. My ears began to water up as I shook my head left to right, "I'm a terrible person..."
"No." He instantly said but in a calm manner, "Two, Papa, they deserved it! Two is always hurting you and your siblings, over and over and over again. He picks on everyone because he thinks everyone is beneath him but he doesn't know that the oldest is always the stronger one. But Papa...he's the worst of all. He always allows for him to hurt you and everyone else. You may not see it now but you," he grabbed the side of my face to face him, "You are no monster. Papa is. One day, you'll open your eyes."
Something in me was sucked into his words and wanted to believe him but something else just couldn't accept it. Instead of saying anything, I said nothing at all. Peter finally stopped staring into the depths of my soul and let his hand lower away from my face.
I didn't want to have this conversation anymore so I switched it up. "I heard Papa calling you Peter. Is that your name?"
He nodded once, "Peter Ballard."
"...Why are you suddenly talking to me about this?"
"Because, Seven, I also opened my eyes and saw just how alike you and I really are." He answered simply. I gave him a puzzled look, "Alike?"
"Yes, you'll realize it." Replied Peter right before the door opened to reveal the nurse coming in with Papa.
"Here she is, Sir." The nurse tells Papa. He walked up to me, "How are you feeling, Seven?"
I took a quick glance at Peter and then back at Papa. "Better." I kept my reply short.
He nodded, "Well then, let's take you back to your room. Shall we."
"Yes Papa."
He went over to the door and opened it for me. I walked through the door and we walked all the way to my room with only Papa.
"I know why Two managed to throw you out the circle. Even a split second can have you completely thrown off."
I gulped, "I'm sorry."
He was silent for a moment. "You have nothing to be sorry for except for the weakness that lies in your heart."
The weakness in my heart that he's talking about was the fact that I cared for everyone, causing for me not wanting to hurt them. Our conversation ended there and I entered my room when it was closed shut behind me. The loud sound made my head pound but luckily only for a few seconds before it went back to normal. Now I was trapped here.
_______Early in the morning yet we were still called for an announcement.
"This lesson is going to be about rules. It seems some of you need a recalling. Eleven, please stand forward." Papa says. In a second, Eleven took a step up with her eyes glued onto the floor. Her face wasn't so viable because the lighting didn't hit her face. "Last night, your sister suffered a concussion- almost like how one of you almost gave Seven one as well. Eleven claims that nothing happened in her alone time in the rainbow room but I know someone else did this. One of you." He looked at each of our faces. "Someone tell me what happened."
