After A Decade (Jesse & Leni)

Leni POV

"May lead na po kami Ma'am kung nasaan si Sir, I t-text ko nalang po yung address sa inyo"

Unexpected good news to start her day. It was a phone call from a private investigator she had hired to find her husband, who had been hiding for nearly a decade.

"Akala mo siguro hindi kita mahahanap , nagkakamali ka Jesse, nagkamali ka Bok. Almost ten years Bok, ten years at natiis mo ako at ang tatlo mong anak" feels unbelievable "Maybe this is one of the reasons I failed to win the Presidential Election. Tamang tama lang ang timing mo Jesse, tinapos mo talaga ang eleksyon para mahanap kita." Leni ponders while enjoying her morning coffee. She quickly grabbed her phone again and dialed her secretary's number.

"Hello Sab, ask ko lang sana if I have important meetings next week?" I asked my personal secretary

I called Sabrina, my personal secretary, to get my next week's schedule and making sure na  wala akong ma iiwang trabaho sa NGO.

"Hello po Ma'am, Good morning po. Regarding po sa schedule niyo next week , wala naman po kayong important meetings" Sab replied from the other line

"Good, can you clear my schedule for next week, Sab?"

"Yes po Ma'am, pero bakit po?"

"Uhm may importante lang akong bibisitahing lugar, I want to unwind also dahil sa dami ng trabaho natin sa Angat Buhay NGO" dahilan ko sa kanya at hindi na rin magtanong

"Oh sige po ma'am, noted po"

"Thank you, Sab. Bye"

Saktong sakto after Leni ended the call, she received  a text message from his private investigator

"Agutaya, Palawan"  she read the message

"Kaya siguro nahirapan akong hanapin ka Bok dahil sobrang layo pala ng pinagtataguan mo. " she sighed "I need to think. I need to book a plane ticket as soon as possible."

After a week

"Mga binibini,ginang, at ginoo kalalapag lang po natin sa Palawan International Airport at tayo ay patungo na sa terminal 2. Maligayang pagdating dito sa Palawan. Mangyari po lamang na manatiling nakaupo at nakakabit ang seatbelt. Wag po lamang kunin ang gamit hanggang ang ating eroplano ay hindi pa ganap na nakahinto. Sa ngalan ng Philippine Airlines kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa iyong pagtangkilik saamin. Inaasahan po namin ang muli nating pagkikita. Maraming Salamat."

After hearing the flight attendant's statement, Leni is unmoved, and she can only imagine how she would react if she met him again after a decade. She also thinks about how she will explain the situation to her daughters. She also recalls her last night's conversation with her eldest, Aika, when she was caught packing her backpack with some of her stuff.

"Ma??" Aika called her mom, which made Leni startled.

"Anu ba naman Aiks, ginulat mo ko"

"Sorry Mama" making a peace sign "Aalis ka ba ma? bakit parang nag iimpake ka ata"

"May pupuntahan lang po ang Mama, part of Angat Buhay NGO project, mga 3 days kami doon" she explained
