The awakening of the Bektekon Dynasty - Custom 40k Lore

Chapter 6

Back in the Tomb, Mekepses with his arm repaired, watches the horizon as Scute Swarms break down the remainder of the wreck and the corpses that litter the field. The Tomb's Advisor hovers towards Mekepses. 'My Lord, what is the future for Bektekon Dynasty?' The Advisor asks.

'Before I state my intentions, I must know one thing.' Mekepses appealed, 'How many units have we lost?'

'With the two skirmishes that have transpired, even though 57% of our forces have successfuly resurrected, we've lost 173 units in total.' The Advisor reported.

Bitter about the news, Mekepses takes his eyes off the horizon to face the Advisor. 'We cannot afford anything else like this again.' Mekepses stated, 'Over a third of our total population has been wiped.'

'What should we do about it?' The Advisor asked.

'In order to ensure survival of this Dynasty, we must expand our influence across the system and grow stronger.' Mekepses declared.

'Are you sure that would be fine with the neighbouring Dynasties within the system?' The Advisor questioned.

'I doubt that they'd give up their power willingly.' Mekepses responded, 'But we're different to them.' Mekepses turns back to look at the twilight sky above.

'The Bektekon Dynasty is founded on principle and loyalty.' Mekepses stated, 'These other Dynasties are full of betrayal and disobedience. If anything, it is our right to bring order and further establish our honour and code to the stars. It will unite the Necron race and establish ourselves as the rightful rulers over the galaxy.' 

'I see,' The Advisor comments.

'I want to begin this campaign at the soonest possible moment. We must now wait any longer.' Mekepses stated, 'I want a fleet to be assembled with the materials we've collected from this skirmish.'

'It will be done, my Lord.' The Advisor reassured Mekepses before retreating into the Tomb.
