What you don't see doesn't kill you (Near x reader)

Years later

4 years later after highschool

You and Near have been together ever sense the day he first kissed you. Light moved away and no one really knows what happened to Misa. Near had a job and he would investigate. This was the day after he left to Japan to figure out 'the kira' case. You didn't know how long it would take him but you hoped everyday that he would be okay. You get a call from Near;

Near: hey babe.

You: hi, I really miss you

Near: I miss you too, there's something I have to tell you (y/n).

You: yes Near?

Near: I don't know when I'll be back from this case. But I want you to know that I love you more than anything in this whole entire world.

You: I love you so much.

Near begins talking to you about the case and how he doesn't know how long it will take. You feel hurt that you might now see him in a very long time. But you know he will try anything to be with you. As he hangs up you forget that there was something you had to tell him. You got mad at yourself for not saying it sooner because Near had to give his phone to one of the Japanese police officers. You start thinking of ways you can let Near know next time he calls you
