Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode

I knew where he was taking me. For years, this was his favourite spot, nothing like this place on earth, it was magical yet it scared me. Trepidation entered my heart and didn't stop it from pounding from inside my lungs. It had moved, shifted me from on the ground to high above where I never wanted to get down.
The thrill and pull of the excitement drew me back here, back where it all began.
"It's the stars, they are the reason I have never stopped coming here," he smiled, gesturing to the array of lights in the sky away from the light polluted air.
"It's gorgeous," she smiled walking toward the edge of the cliff.

His looming presence dominated her mind, taking control of her mental powers.
"What... what are you doing?" she asked with caution, her mouth sweating with words.
"Nothing, I just wanted to stand here, with you,"
"Okay..." she nervously played with the belt on her playsuit, winding it around her fingers.
As it unraveled, he gripped the fabric, turning her around and hanging her off of the edge. Of all the things she knew about this place, the one thing that made her fear it was what he had done. She'd loved someone she knew would one day do this.
Maybe this was the way she wanted it. Who knew? No one.
Tilting her head back, the breeze took away her sunglasses, getting crushed into the rocks below before they could drown. It took away her fear, the bobble untying from her hair, the clips shifting from their position, flying away. Sinking slowly, until they reached the deep pits of eternal damnation. Where she was going.
"Are you comfortable?" He asked.
"Don't let me down... don't do it,"
"It's a perfect night, the stars are shining bright just like you always liked,"
"Just don't let me down, don't do it, not to me, not again,"
"But I have to, I need to, I want to,"
"No you don't,"
"I'm taking my best friend to the place I like most. It's a ride that's going to end. In five, four, three, two and one."
