"GET READY FOR SCHOOL!" Dad growled behind my door, knocking furiously. I painfully got up, and walked towards my closet, putting on yesterday's clothes. I made sure to wear a long sleeved shirt, even though it was going to about 90 today.

I opened my door, which made a loud squeak. I shook my head and sighed as I made my way down the stairs.

Half way down, Percy, my little brother, yelled, "Jerk! Get Outta My Way!" And pushed me hard towards the wall. Luckily, I caught myself before I fell. I took a deep breath, warning myself not to cry, as i quickly grapped my worn out bookbag, and a piece of toast off the kitchen table and ran out the door just as the bus pulled in front of our house.

Today was going to be a long day. I sighed as I got on the noisy bus. I sat in a seat closest to the window. I heard cruel laughter at the back of the bus. I turned around and saw a few athletes from my school, picking on a short kid with glasses.

Then I saw Meredith, not only a female bully, but also, most of the jockes loved her, she can tell them what to do at will. I rolled my eyes, and turned back around.

We turned sharply left. I tuned out all the noise and racket at the back of the bus. Everything, except Meredith's shrine voice.

"Good Morning! Jerk face!" She sang, but I knew it was just a cover she used in public, "What's in that bag of yours?" Her snoddy little voice asked, still keeping her cool, pointing to my faded book bag.

"Nothing," I muttered, as I shrugged off the question. She rolled her eyes.
"I didn't ask for your opinion, lemmie see the bag...jerk!" She started to grab my book bag, thats when the bus lurched forward, her hand hitting the seat in front of us in the process.

"Ow!" She wailed, "That manicure costed me..." but she didn't finish. I looked at her, as she tried to take deep breaths, (as if that hurt) before she recovered, I heard my self say,
"Gee Meredith, just say it, you are too desperate!" Realizing what I just said, I clamped my mouth shut. Some of the jocks 'Oooed' and 'Ahhed'.

Meredith gave them the look, they automatically shut their mouths. Then she turned to me. And gave me the look of agony.
"I'll see you after school." Then she shoved me against the window, and got of the bus just as the doors opened. A few jocks followed her on her way out.

I was the last one off; the bus driver looked at me sympathetically and hollered as I stepped off the bus, "Have a great day!" And the bus doors closed.
