As I let Max in I realized I hadn't seen her since the "fire" at Starcourt. I tried to block out all of those memories and it was working, but I had a feeling that they all where about to come flooding back "Uh actually.." max nervously mumbled " I think you both should know this " we all looked at etch-other before my mother interjected "is something wrong? " Max smiled and nodded her head "no no no it's just about um- school " we all then quickly migrated to
My brothers room before she could ask anymore questions.
"I know something about the murder.."
the room was completely silent in anticipation. " It was um.. Chrissy Cunningham " I started to shake " What! Are you sure?!" I wasn't that close with Chrissy ever but I mean, I cheered with her...I saw her every day for the past 3 years . In fact i saw her yesterday night, I hugged her! " I'm like 99% sure! I saw she was in a cheerleading uniform which is exactly what Chrissy walked in with.. Eddie in " I looked at her in shock " Are you implying Eddie did this!! No way!!" Dustin yelled. "Well you can't rule it out! But he's definitely the #1 suspect right now " Dustin took a heavy breath "well, why haven't you told the cops yet " she looked around "well, something else happened"
Max then explained how the lights started flickering in her trailer but how that wasn't unusual ,but she also saw Eddie run out looking completely terrified before driving away like a maniac, also not that unusual, but I guess the fear in his eyes was enough to convince her. She then stated how he possibly could've been scared because he just killed someone " or he was scared that someone else killed her?" I said in a slight whisper " or.. something?" Dustin said in the same tone. " no way, eleven closed the gate! " max yelled "well...I mean.. It's come back before " I mumbled " well only one person knows what actually happened " we all looked at etch other.
We ran to my car ignoring our moms Protests. We quickly drove to the video store where Dustin's 2nd weird old friend ,Steve,worked as well as a girl named robin. When we entered, Steve started talking about the murder before Dustin slid across the counter as if he where in an action film. Max and I walked around the counter to where Dustin started doing his research to find Eddie. "You guys can't just use this place as headquarters on our most busy day!" Robin spoke abnormally fast. Dustin rolled his eyes "max.. explain to them." And she did.
We stayed there calling and searching for around 30 minutes. "Guys I might have a lead!" Max said with a promising voice " so apparently Eddie gets his drugs from this guy named reefer Rick and, he crashes there sometimes " Robin quickly responded "that sounds promising, where does the reefer Rick guy live?" She then explained how he was more of legend and no one really knows anything about him. Steve then went on some tangent about drug dealers and cops and how he helps all customers and not just hot chicks. " there's a very wide selection here I have to help everyone!" He yelled " your right ,there is a wide selection!" Robin Said as if she just cracked the case. She quickly got on the computer and we all crowded around her . She began typing in "R-I-C-K" we all stood in shock "you're a genius Robin!" Dustin said. I gotta admit it was pretty impressive.
When we found the address of "reefer rick" we all immediately squeezed into Steve's car. When we arrived it was already dark. we got out of the car and Dustin handed max and Robin a flashlight. " do you guys see anything " I asked. " uhh is that a foot?!" Steve asked "no it's a shoe" Dustin sharply responded. "Guys.." max said in a soft but worried tone. We all walked over to where she was only to see a weird metal barn. We all walked over to it opening the door slowly. We all looked in " ladies first " I said looking at Steve and my little brother "hmf very funny ry, you should be a comedian " I smirked
