Y/n said goodbye to her mom and dad and stepped into the fire. She grabbed some of the floo powder and spoke clearly, "Platform 9 ¾", and she disappeared.
When she stepped out of the fireplace at Platform 9 ¾, she saw the crowd of students rushing around. She pushed her cart all the way through and loaded her trunk onto the train.
She noticed that Tom was outside of the train, so she got off and went to bother him.
"Riddle!" she shouted. He turned around, looking annoying. "Yes, L/n?" he spoke. Y/n didn't say anything, she was in disbelief at the badge pinned on his chest.
'Prefect' it read. She couldn't believe her eyes.
"You're a prefect too?" she asked.
"I suppose so," he responded, sounding annoyed.
"I never expected TOMMY of all people to be a prefect," Y/n said, holding back her laughter as she saw Tom's face go red in embarrassment.
"I told you to stop calling me that!" he whisper-shouted at her, looking around to make sure no one heard her.
"You should know that I'll keep calling you that no matter what," she said, putting her hands on her hips.
"Yet I keep telling yo-" Tom was cut off by the sound of a train screeching, visibly cringing at the sound.
Y/n then left Tom and walked onto said train.

After the prefect meeting she was required to attend, Y/n walked down to an empty compartment and sat there. She pulled out a book she was carrying with her in a small purse and started to read, but she couldn't focus, she couldn't stop thinking about Tom, who she was assigned to monitor the halls with that night.
His perfect hair, his perfect jawline, his perfect eyes, his perfect everything! How could he be so perfect?
As she was fantasizing about Tom Riddle, the door suddenly opened.
"Hello N/n," the person said, Y/n, still looking at her book, barely thinking before she answers.
"What do you want, Tommy?" she said before looking up and seeing Tom infront of her.
"I was curious, so I decided to come to the front of your compartment and use legilimency, and I found some very odd thoughts in your mind," he explained.
Y/n turned red. Damn it, she had been too caught up in her thoughts to use occlumency.
"Don't flatter yourself Riddle, I was only trying to confuse you," she lied.
Tom sat down across from Y/n. "Your face says otherwise," he said, trying to suppress a smile.
Y/n turned even redder and directed her attention to the window. They were almost at Hogwarts.
"Shut it Riddle," she quickly said before slamming her book closed and storming out.
After that ordeal, they finally got to Hogwarts. Tom didn't join her carriage thankfully, so it was just her and the thestrals.
