Luke paced helplessly around the living room, eyeing his wristwatch every twenty seconds. Maybe they should have gone to the base to meet up. Or maybe they shouldn't be doing this at all. Luke was conflicted. He was also nearly ready to pull his hair out at any moment. The sound of Rooster's Bronco parking out front, made him stop his incessant pacing and rush to the front door. He opened it to see the other pilot jogging up the sidewalk. Rooster looked up when he made it to the top of the steps, a lopsided smile on his face. Rooster grabbed Luke's hand gently, using his foot to push the door closed behind him. He eyed the corridor they stood in before looking into Luke's hazel eyes.
"Where'd we leave off?" He murmured, bumping his nose gently against Luke's before pulling away. Luke's face flushed red, his head reeling back slightly in embarrassment. He only had a moment before Rooster was crowding his space again, pressing his lips against the corner of Luke's mouth. Luke could feel the smile against his skin. He shivered, head dropping down as soon as Rooster pulled away. The hand not holding onto Luke's own moved to grab at his chin, pulling his face upward.
"Hey," Rooster locked eyes with him before letting go of his chin, moving to press another kiss along his jaw. "Why you hiding from me?" He whispered against Luke's skin, his hot breath dancing down the other's neck. Luke craned his head back at the feeling, closing his eyes and sighing deeply. Rooster moved to press his mouth against the skin near Luke's ear, hand moving up to card his fingers through the hair at the back of the other man's neck.
Rooster pulled away, fingernails still scratching lightly at the other's scalp. Luke cracked his eyes open, leaning his head back down with furrowed brows. Rooster was eyeing him expectantly, which made Luke even more confused.
"Waiting on you, Pretty." He explained, leaning in just a hair length away from him. Luke nodded slightly, mustering up enough courage to gently press his mouth against Rooster's parted lips. The kiss was slow and tender, all that Luke had hoped it would be. He let go of the other man's hand to wrap both of his arms around his torso, hands gripping tightly onto the fabric of Rooster's Hawaiian shirt. Rooster followed suit, doing much the same, he rested one hand on Luke's hip while the other latched onto a belt loop, tugging him closer to where they stood flush against each other. Luke grunted lowly as Rooster deepened the kiss, guiding him by the grip he had on his waist toward the living room with a stumble. They bumped into a nearby table, causing it to skid an inch or two across the hardwood floor, but both easily paid no mind to the loud noise.
Rooster broke the kiss to fall onto the nearest couch, a beckoning finger giving Luke enough courage to move closer. A hand at the hem of his shirt tugged him down onto the other's lap, causing a blush to crawl up Luke's neck. Rooster let one hand rest gently on Luke's hip, rubbing small circles on the exposed skin just above the waist of his jeans. His other hand moved to cradle the side of Luke's face as he guided it down to meet his in a soft kiss. Rooster moved his hand down, resting his palm at the side of Luke's throat with a hum. Luke scooted his body further onto Rooster's lap, hands feeling the toned stomach through his tank top, sliding up to rest on his chest.
"Luke," His mother gently called from the corridor.
"Shit," Luke murmured against Rooster's lips before pulling away to look at the entryway of the room. Sarah stood there, in her pajama clad form.
"Oh," She began. "Oh," She widened her eyes. "I didn't think," She stated before faltering. "Oh," She said again.
Luke began to climb off of Rooster's lap, face red with shame. He nearly stumbled, grabbing at Rooster's offered hand for support as he stood.
"Mom, uh," He began nervously, running a hand through his hair to try and tame it after the previous onslaught that it received from Rooster's hands. Surprisingly, his mother broke out into a smile.
"Bradley," She spoke up, watching as the pilot moved to stand beside Luke.
"Mrs. Kazansky," Rooster greeted, shifting from where he stood next to Luke.
"Haven't seen you since you were a little boy." She remarked tenderly, eyes glossing over as if she were remembering him at five years old. "Well," She recovered. "I hope you'll stay for breakfast tomorrow." She smiled before turning to look at Luke. "The girls decided to sleep with Alice tonight. Keep it down, though." She spoke simply before turning around to head back upstairs.
"I like your mom." Rooster said simply from behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his chin atop his shoulder. Luke's blush increased ten fold at the attention, squirming slightly under the other's grip. "Cut it out," The other pilot reprimanded to which Luke immediately complied. Rooster placed a kiss at the side of his neck as a reward.
"Let's take a look at that room of yours." Rooster said, letting go of his waist, and moving to stand at his side. He grabbed at Luke's hand, clasping it with both hands behind his back as he led the way to the corridor. Luke had no choice but to follow, completely enamored by the man in front of him.Once they made it to the top of the stairs, Rooster moved to let go of his hand, instead opting wrap an arm around his waist. Luke's skin prickled immediately as he forced himself to shake it off, moving toward the first door on the right. He gently opened it, as Alice's room was right next to his, allowing Rooster to enter first. It was rather normal as far as bedrooms went. A tv across from a queen sized bed, a few dressers and knick knacks littered around the room. Rooster eyed the room for a moment while Luke moved to shut the door. When Luke turned back around he was met with a soft kiss, to which he eagerly returned. Rooster pulled away, wrapping his arms around the other's waist while Luke's hands met his chest. Luke gathered enough confidence to lean down and kiss his throat, causing Rooster to groan lightly. He quickly pulled away, sheepish.
"Sorry," He apologized immediately, starting to pull away.
"Don't say that." Rooster whispered, moving forward to gently kiss Luke's cheek. "I should be the one apologizing." He murmured against his skin, before moving back. Luke's eyebrows turned up in slight confusion.
"I was an asshole tonight." He explained quietly before brushing the tip of his nose against Luke's. "I was frustrated with myself." He shared a breath with Luke, half lidded eyes staring into his own. "And I was angry with the way Hangman acted around you tonight."Luke swallowed, reigning in a small amount of spirit to speak up, albeit softly. "You were jealous?" He murmured, gauging his reaction. Rooster grumbled lowly, surging forward to kiss Luke again. "So what if I was?" He huffed out, rolling his eyes.
Rooster gently prodded at Luke's hips until his calves hit the edge of the bed. Luke got the hint, sitting down. Rooster followed suit, moving to sit alongside the other, pulling his leg up to turn his body to fully face him.
"Guess I'm staying for breakfast." Rooster said suggestively. Luke only rolled his eyes, gaze dropping down to look at his lap.
"I'm kidding." Rooster laughed. "I'll sneak out in a bit, alright?" He tugged his boots off, letting his shirt slid off of him to reveal his tank top. He then moved to crawl further up the bed. Luke turned to watch him flop down into a laying position, arms going up to rest behind his head. Luke considered joining him, growing nervous at the thought of it, he decidedly stayed put. It didn't last long as a hand fisted the fabric at the back of his shirt, tugging him back onto the bed. He begrudgingly kicked his shoes away from his feet, moving to lay beside the other man, both of them staring up at the ceiling. Rooster grabbed at Luke's hand, lifting it into his view as he squeezed it lightly."What about this one?" He murmured, voice heavy with exhaustion. He ran a thumb along the space between Luke's knuckles. Luke chuckled quietly, thinking of the memory.
"My niece shot a BB gun at me." He smiled, flipping on his side to look at the other. "I picked off the scab and now it looks a hell of a lot worse." His half lidded eyes traced along Rooster's side profile, deciding it was equally as attractive as the rest of his face. Rooster hummed lightly, dropping both their hands to lay beside them.
They stayed like that, comfortable silence filling the gaps between them. Rooster moved a hand to run it through Luke's disheveled hair. It felt like heaven, Luke craning his neck to push his head further into the fingertips that skid across his scalp. He closed his eyes and after that, he wasn't sure how long his consciousness lasted. All he could recollect was that feeling alongside the steady breathing beside him before he fell asleep.
