Despite your friends begging, you couldn't go with them to pull the prank on Tommy and his goons. The reason being because you had to stay home to watch your mom. Your mom is very sick. According to the doctors, she doesn't have much longer to live. This caused you to be determined to spend every minute you mom has left, by you side.

Your father had recently gotten a promotion, which led to him being at work a lot more than you and your mother would like. Fortunately, for you, your father had taken the day off and was in his room resting.

"So, yeah! That's all the 100 reasons my friends and I all hate Tommy!" You had been ranting to her mom about school and the casual bullies when all of a sudden a hard knock hit the door. It was well past dark, so you and your mother were both very confused. Trick or treaters should have gone home by now, so who could it be?

That question was answered very quickly by a voice behind the door, "Hey Wills! It's Chuck! We stole a car!" Your eyes widened, darting towards the door. Auggie quickly shut the idea down. "No- nope, I wouldn't say stole. The driver did agree to drive us here. He is in on it too, I swear!"

"Well we broke in! So basically stole," Chuck retorted. "Yeah, you guys did do that," Stella accused.

This caused an argument. "You guys!?" You immediately rushed to open the door to shut it down. Of course the four of you fought, you're teenagers! It's in your nature. Luckily, the fights were never serious; They were always petty arguments, commonly starting by one of them blaming the main problem on the other ones. Just like this.

You opened the door, already in her pajamas. "In what world is that a Spider-Man costume?" You scoffed, looking Chuck up and down. You had mainly pictured a red and blue costume and a mask. However, he was wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants. Auggie, meanwhile, was wearing a puffy black and white clown costume with frilly fabric around the neck. "And are you a clown?"

"There was a mishap," Chuck awkwardly laughed. "It's a Pierrot," Auggie basically yelled. He didn't mean to yell; He was just annoyed at being called a clown the whole night. "My bad. Didn't mean to touch a nerve there," You chuckled. You looked towards the unknown person. "Are you the guy who's car they stole?"

"I guess. My names Ramon, nice to meet you," the dark haired boy answered. "Nice to meet you too!"

Chuck shut down the interaction, "Can you come with us or what? I thought your dad was home." He didn't want you to spend her whole Halloween inside. "I'm pretty sure my dad's sleeping. I'll go check though." Before they could reply, you were already halfway up the stairs. Your house was decently big. Two floors, three bedrooms, four bathrooms, etc... You and your family were pretty comfortable in their situation. Minus your sick mom, of course.

A couple minutes passed before you ran back down the stairs with a smile so bright it could light up the whole room. That was one of the things Chuck loved about you, your smile was the prettiest thing he had ever seen. Of course, he refused to ever tell you how he felt. 'She is way out of my league,' Chuck thought, with a ghost of a smile on his face.

"He said yes," You squealed. You hadn't been able to go out with them in so long because of her dad's long work hours. You didn't mind all that much, but your friends claimed they never saw you anymore besides from school. "Let me go change and we'll be off!" You started running back the way you came before suddenly stopping. "Wait, where are we even going?" You turned back to them. "Well, since it's Halloween, we could visit Sarah Bellows' house." Stella adjusted her glasses while explaining. "In the dark?" You asked with her eyebrows furrowed. If there was a trophy for what your biggest fear was, the woods would definitely win first place. You hated the possibility of some rabid animal jumping out at you any second.
