I walked across the cafeteria in Hawkins High, trying to find a table. My only friend decided to find new friends so I basically had nobody. I sat down at an empty table and began eating my food. I heard laughing from a nearby table. I whipped my head around to see a gang of obnoxious looking boys with matching shirts throwing food at each other and laughing. One of them noticed me and I averted my eyes immediately. I began to eat my food again as if nothing happened. I felt a presence behind me and I looked behind me to see a tall boy with long hair, tilting his head and staring at me with a puzzled look on his face. "You don't normally sit there, do you?" He asked me. "No, my friend was just being a dick, so I'm moving." I said. "Well, feel free to sit there as long as you want. I'm not as douchey as I look. Just prepare for some noise, me and my friends are kind of obnoxious sometimes, to say the least. "Thanks. You're Eddie, right?" I asked. "Yup, that's me. You're y/n." He said. "Yeah. we have chemistry together. "Cool." He said.  I smiled at him. He smiled at me, looking into my eyes. He was about to say something when one of his friends yelled, "Eddie! Lunch is almost over, you can mingle another time!" Eddie rolled his eyes. "Yeah, Dustin, okay!" He snapped back. He points back to his table and looks at me. "I'm sorry, I gotta-" He said. "No, yeah, totally." I forced a smile. "I'll, uh, see you around." He said before getting up and running back to his table. All I heard after that was whispers and laughs.

I was walking through the halls while listening to music and suddenly dropped all my books. My headphones flew off of my head onto the ground with my books and I looked around me to see Eddie. I was relieved. "Jesus, I'm sorry. I'm such a klutz. Are you okay?" He asked me. "Yeah, I'm good." I told him. He started scooping up my books and handed them to me. "Thanks." I smiled at him. "It's you!" He said, pointing. "Nice observation, genius." I said sarcastically. He chuckled. "Yeah, I keep running into you. He smiled. "Its fate! One of his friends yelled from a distance. "Shut up!" He replied. "Again, I'm really sorry for bumping into you." He said. "No worries. You can make it up to me by taking me on a date if you want." I said. His smile faded. He wasn't frowning but he looked in shock. "Woah, don't worry, I'm just joking. I don't even know you." I said, laughing. "Oh, right." He said, laughing awkwardly. Suddenly another boy came up. "What are we talking about?" He asked, smiling eagerly. Eddie looked at him, cringing. "Hey, Dustin." Dustin looked at me and his eyes widened. "You're..." "Yeah. That girl." I nodded. "I'm y/n. You're Dustin, right? Dustin Henderson?" I asked. Dustin laughed and said with a smile, "she knows my name!" Eddie looked at Dustin and then at me. "Hey, you didn't know my last name and I have a class with you! I'm offended." Eddie chuckled. "Oh, really? What class?" Dustin asked. "We have chemistry." I told him. "Yeah, you do." He smiled cheekily. Eddie punched him in the arm and I smiled at both of them. "Well, hey, your new lady friend should sit with us at lunch tomorrow," Dustin suggested. Eddie looked at me and then Dustin and then at me again. "Do you... want to?" Eddie asked me. "No, I'd rather sit alone like a loser." I smiled. I could tell Eddie knew I was being sarcastic, but I don't know about Dustin. He didn't seem to smart about social cues. "Sweet, I'll see you tomorrow." Eddie smiled at me and I smiled back at him. "Cool. Tomorrow then." I smiled before walking away.
