I may write fanfic, but some people just mess up fanfics.
My least favorite types of fanfics are the Clique ones. Such as High School, Betrayal, Percy has a sister, Leo and an OC, Annabeth is cast aside, Percy goes to a club, Percy died. I have read so many of those, and it's slightly annoying. Although, some of the "clique" themed stories are really good.Worst things I find:
1. Grammar and Spelling Mistakes are my pet peeve, but it's understandable with one or two mistakes. I use my phone to write some stories, and it does glitch. Things like learning English for the first time is an acceptation, but if you lie and say you went to some really good college, we will be able to tell, because of your grammar. I also can't stand people spelling grammar like grammer.2. Incorrect portrayal of characters is horrible, I almost broke my phone when I read a fanfic where Annabeth was super girly, and Piper would use charmspeak for everything. Annabeth is a warrior, and if I remember correctly Piper would only charmspeak for dire situations.
3. The twelve story-house is a major clique topic. It doesn't even need to be twelve-story to be clique. Most high school fanfics have the gods giving the seven and a few more a house with a pool, gourmet kitchen, and sports cars. The gods wouldn't do that. At least not the Greek Gods I know. For example, Perseus the First, did he get to go to high school after he saved everyone? No. Hercules/Heracles? No. See my point.
4. The whole Betrayed topic is another thing against the original works. It's always Percy getting a sibling or a new camper who steals Annabeth and all his friends, except Thalia and Nico. Percy is named after water elementals, Greek letters or he's named some other name. There has been some really good variations of these, but not all. There's also the ones with Piper rather than Percy, or both. Annabeth is a rude character In these types or stories.
5. Where's Grover? No explanation needed.
6. Mortal girls and Percy, every girl in the mortal world loves Percy. They dress immodestly and even though empoisi find him ugly, everyone loves Percy.
7. Ships such as Pertimis, pothena, percyxhestia are ships with Maiden goddesses, pothena makes some sort of sense, but if people use this a lot, it's ,again, portraying them wrong.
8. The whole Percy is the most popular boy and Annabeth surprises him. Even empousi didn't like Percy, the girls at Goode didn't like him right away, why now? Sure Reyna liked him, she lost her other Praetor. Calypso? Falls for every hero. Nico? First demigod in action. Annabeth? Quested with him. Racheal? She was crazy with all her colour she probably liked his eyes. Swim captain too? Not that many schools have swim teams.
9. School outfits are just... well ... crazy. The cute clothes that the seven get for school, okayish, but the whole look of the popular girls. What school lets teens wear booty shorts?
10. The room explanations, who has a pool in the bedroom.
11. Demigods and Hogwarts are so big it's shocking. The demigods are american transfers. Major age difference, and Harry would have been out of school, whilst Percy is in 4th year .
12. Enough with the Jackson twins. And it's almost never a guy, Percy always has a sister.
13. All OCs are Big Three, Athena, or forbidden child of Artemis. If not its sways from an Olympian never Iris, Hecate, Hebe, and other minor gods.
14. Mean girls are always fighting for Percy. They have names like Brittney and Ashley. The guy antagonist is most likely Matt Sloan.
15. Where's the adults? Chiron? Teachers?
That's it for today even though I have so much more.
