I finally had decided on wearing my new starry night by Van Gogh socks and my loafers. I was waiting for the perfect opportunity and I had just found it. What's a better place than an art museum. I decided on going with a simple collared white shirt and jean shorts and made sure to bring my sketchbook and backpack.
I was excited to be going someone so familiar with him. I wondered what we would talk about, but I didn't have too much time to think about that. Liam was going to be here any time now.
I went back into the living room and doodled while Olly walked circles.
There was a sudden knock at the door and my nerves shot out of nowhere and I started to get jittery. Olly barked a few times but ran to the door and waited for me to open it.
I took a few breaths before swinging the squeaky wood open.
"Hello" Liam beamed. He was looking adorable this evening.
He had black skinny jeans and a long black pea coat with a large collar. His shirt was simply white, but for some reason, he looked extremely good. I thought it was the coat.
I grabbed my backpack and smiled at Liam as he let me out of my little apartment first before shutting the door.
We walked closely next to each other, the wind a but chilly as we made our way down the street to the museum.
I smiled to myself, looking at the ground with starry eyes and my heart absolutely pounding against my chest in nerves and excitement.
"I'm glad you could come tonight" Liam looked over at me as a gust of wind blew through my curls and sending a shiver down my back.
"I am too" I laughed at how dumb I must have looked to him.
It took us a total of 15 minutes to get to the museum and I was relieved I didn't say anything too embarrassing.
I was so captured by Liam's bright smile and charming personality as we made small talk and laughed at stories from our past.
"Here it is" Liam smiled and I looked at the outside, so rustic and intriguing.
Liam opened the door for me and I began to reach into my pocket for money, but Liam stopped me and payed for both of us.
"Thank you. You really didn't have to" I nervously chuckled and played with my rings.
"Don't thank me. I should pay for you. I did invite you after all." he winked and I just knew my face was ruddy and warm.
He took my hand in his before I could say anything and we began to walk towards the first room of art.
I was extremely worried about my palms getting sweaty and me babbling on about something completely unrelated to the subject.
I looked down at our intertwined hands and made it very obvious that I liked the feeling of his hand in mine.
"This is gorgeous" I said in awe at a beautiful piece of art hanging on the light blue wall. I took out my phone and took a picture of it, knowing that it would soon become my background.
"Oh, look at that one" Liam pointed and got closer to me admiring from afar and again, snapping a picture of Liam as he looked at every smear and of ink and paint on the canvas.
I laughed at the cute photo as Liam turned back around to me, noticing my giggles as I looked at my phone.
"What" his smile was filled with love.
