The normally bustling cafeteria hums with a deserted feeling, chairs normally filled lay empty and strewn around carelessly. I sit off to the right of the room, where a few tables are segregated as "Elite". I fiddle with my necklace, the thing that got me this far in the life I was handed. A few stragglers from the lunch rush sit at a few tables, their conversations a mash of sound from where I sit. I glance over at the door where a familiar figure stands, green hair, blue foxish ears, matching tail, mismatched orange and black eyes, torn up hoodie, jeans, and blue and yellow bracelets. That's my brother alright. I wave him off as he notices me. He walks over with another familiar face following him, the young harpy Liv. She walks closely behind him, with him holding her right wing nub with a loose grip. My brother sits down with Liv beside him in another chair.
"So who put you on babysitting duty?" I say giving Liv a quick smile.
"Anbu had to go out for something so I'm making sure nothing bad happens, something about some weirdos trying to break the wall down." He yawns making a gesture to the widows,
"Anbu said we were going to play hide and seek before they left!" Liv shoots up straight, almost hitting my brother in the face with her wing arms.
"Hey! Watch it Liv!" He growls pushing her arm down,
"Sorry Spark." She slouches a little, Spark puts a hand on her head ruffling her tangled brown hair.
"Just. Be careful. You Are way stronger than you think." He sighs
Spark glances at the large clock on the wall behind me and fidgets with his bracelet for a moment before returning attention to me.
"Something wrong?" I nudge my brother's hand.
"I dont know." he mutters
"Well what do you know?"
"That Anbu has been disappearing more often, Piper and Harmoninea haven't been here in months now, The Convention is coming soon, and I got in a fight with Storm and now he wont talk to me, neither will Kit. It wasn't even that big of a conflict. Does he hate me now?" He balls his fists on the table.
Liv puts a wing over Sparks back and shoulders, "It's alright, I know Storm can't be that mad at you. From watching all of you I think that you just need to talk to him."
"You, don't understand what this means." Spark turns his head slightly, his overcut brushing out from under Liv's wing, "You'll understand more when your older"
I grab Sparks face,
"Listen here bucko, You do realize that getting mad at Mr. E-boy will only cause more problems" He pulls back, but I still dont let go, "Storm has definitely forgotten about it by now. Kit was probably just being overprotective of him. You know how she is. Go talk to him." I let go as Spark pulls again, "He's either in the training hall or his dorm by now. Go talk and I'll watch Liv. Anbu definitely won't be back tonight so they won't know."
Spark stands up and Liv moves her wing back, he looks nervous. I give him a slight scowl as he turns around. Liv watches Spark leave the cafeteria, she looks back at me with a puppy glare,
"That was mean"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't grab people like that!"
"He's my brother, he knows im just looking out for him"
"That doesn't make it any better!"
"Do you have siblings Liv?"
"No, but what does that have to do with this?"
"Well it'd be easier to explain if you did."
"What do you mean?"
