Mason POV:

It was around 7:30 now, we had been playing Mario kart and super smash bros for around 2 hours, and it was the most fun I've had in a while. Lottie hadn't even texted me the whole time, it was great!

"Zeke! Dinners ready!" I heard Zeke's mom, Marissa, shout from the start of the hallway, "Do you want to stay for dinner?" Zeke asked me questioning, "I'd love too!" I replied cheerfully. Zeke chuckled at my happy demeanor, which made me slightly blush, god knows why, but his laugh was so mesmerizing, I could barely keep my eyes off him.

My trance was finally broken when I heard him speak again, "Are you checking me out?" He said with a stoic expression, looking directly at me. He put he arms up halfway and flexed them, showing off his gorgeous arms. Once what he said processed in my brain I instantly turned red, "What- pft, no, what are you talking about?" I said not very convincingly. I wouldn't even believe myself, I don't believe myself, I was totally checking him out, but I don't know why. What is going on with me?

Zeke bursted out in a fit of laughter, looking at my red face, "Y'know, your cute when your flustered." He said whilst he stood up and walked over to the door. I honestly thought it was physically impossible to get even more red then I already was, but yet again, he called me cute, I felt like my legs were jelly when I finally stood up after far too long. It felt like he was motioning me to follow him for hours.

When I finally did stand up and walk towards him, he grabbed my hand, which made my stomach absolutely flip, and led me to the dining room, once we sat down, I opened my phone and texted my mom saying I was staying for dinner, also checking the time, 7:33pm, my family doesn't usually sit down and eat like this, we all just fend for ourselves, but I do feed Izzy a proper meal of course.

Zeke had sat me down in the seat next to his, it was slightly awkward when everyone else sat down too. I met his dad, who seemed to be a cheerful guy with a nice dad 'stache, I soon found out his name was Frank, he definitely looked like a Frank.

"So, Mason, who are your parents?" Was the first thing that came out of Frank's mouth once we sat down, "My parents names are Catalina Hernandez, and Fernando Gutierrez." I replied to the mans question happily, "Where do they work?" He asked another question, "Well my dads an engineer, and my mom works at a salon, she's really good at doing hair, like really good." His dad looked impressed, and happy, "What salon does she work at? If she's that good maybe she can cut my hair." He said cheerfully, "The one down on April glen, she works at Mane Beautilocks," I start, "You just have to ask for Catalina." I finish.

"Well, thank you son, I've been meaning to see a new hairdresser, my old one transferred to a different salon in Basin City." I cringed at that thought, driving all the way to Basin for a haircut, especially with gas prices right now, just no. "My mom is the best, you'll love her." I gushed again.

Frank didn't ask many questions after that, there was light chatter at the table but nothing to extravagant, the food was really good too, Marissa was a great cook, I like Zeke's family.

By the time everyone was done eating it was 8:30pm, and I had to be home by 9, which wasn't a problem because it's only a 15 minute walk back to house, Zeke and I live pretty close. I picked up my plate and walked to the kitchen to wash it.

"Mason, honey, your a guest, I'll wash your plate." Marissa stated, holding her hands out to take the plate, "It's ok Marissa, it's no problem, I'll wash it." I told her, "No no no, I insist, your a guest in our home, I want you to feel welcome, not like you have to do us favors." She insisted, while gently grabbing the plate from my hands, "Marissa you've made me feel more then welcome! Next time I come over I'll be more then happy to clean up myself, it's the least I could do." I negotiated with her. Marissa looked at me cheerfully with a motherly smile, "Your so considerate, fine, next time I'll let you clean up."

I turned around to see Zeke standing there with a smug smile, "I think my mom likes you more then me already, and she's only met you once." He said smirking. I smiled at him proudly, "Man, I've never seen someone so happy to be able to have the privilege of doing dishes." He said slyly, "I like to help." I replied back, having to slightly look up to him from the height difference.

"Your mom said you have to be back at 9 right?" He half asked while looking at his phone, I merely nodded at him in response, "Well it's 8:40, so we better get going." He finished, "We?" I asked stupidly, "Well yeah, I'm not gonna let you walk home by yourself." He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. I smiled at him, "Thanks, and yeah we better get walking." I told him.

The sun was setting by now and it had gotten pretty cold, I only had a t-shirt on so I was getting pretty chilly, "Cold?" I heard Zeke ask, as he was taking off his zip up sweatshirt, "Huh? Oh no, I'm fine." I lied, as I didn't want to trouble him, then I felt the warmth of his sweatshirt being draped around my shoulders, "Here, I don't get cold easily, you can wear." He put a mesmerizing smile on his face that I couldn't refuse, "Thank you." I replied simply, just smiling back while pushing my arms through the sleeves.

"I'm kinda nervous for my driving's license test." Zeke said, "You shouldn't worry, you'll do great, also, the more you worry, the more likely you are to fail." I said with a matter-of-factly tone in my voice, Zeke just laughed, "Well thanks, I feel way better now." He said sarcastically, I chuckled, "Sorry, I'm not the best at comforting people," I said sheepishly, "I use facts, but most of the time that just makes people more on edge." I finished explaining, "Hey it's ok, it's cute how nerdy you are."

There it was again, he called me cute again, every time he's called me cute my stomach does flips and ties into knots, what even is this feeling, I don't think I've ever felt it before. I like it though, it makes me feel weirdly happy. I wonder if he feels the same way.

"Hey, where's your necklace from? I keep looking at it meaning to ask where you got it, but I keep forgetting." Zeke suddenly mentioned, "Oh this, I got off of Etsy, got it custom made, its my sisters birthstones." I informed him, "Ah, makes sense you have a sister, explains why your so good with Devyn and Delaney," Zeke stated, "What's her name?" He inquired, "Isabelle, but everyone calls her Izzy." I clarified, "How old is she? And do you have any other siblings?" He asked, obviously curious, I chuckled, "She just turned 4, and yes, I have an older brother named Axel who is 19," I answered both of his questions, "Axel is currently enrolled in university, he got a fully paid scholarship, he's really smart," I started to gush about my brother, Zeke listening intently.

"He's graduating next year because he took a lot of college classes in high school." I finished ranting, then turned slightly pink when Zeke wasn't saying anything, "You must be really proud of your brother." He finally said, "I am indeed, I'm very proud of him, he's going to have a good job, and a good life, he has a girlfriend, Laila, who he's been with for 4 years, he plans on proposing a little after he graduates." I responded, "Good for him." Zeke said. He didn't say much, but I could tell he was interested in the conversation. We continued to talk until we finally reached my house, which I wish didn't come so soon, as I was enjoying taking to him.

But alas, nothing is perfect, I walked Inside and watched from a window to make sure he got home safe, even though after a little while I couldn't see him anymore, I still watched. I told him to text me when he got back so I was hoping he would. Then after around 10 minutes, my phone pinged with a text from Zeke, 'Made it home in one peice,' I was glad he made it home safe.
