Y/n's POV:
I was staring at my reflection as I scan through my whole outfit.

A sigh escaped my lips, "why do I need to do this in the first place? I can just say no."

I know exactly what the answer is to my question but my mind seems to reject the fact that I need to go through all of this.

After I made sure that everything was perfect I turned to the mirror once more for a final check.

"It's now or never. I just need to go and tell him to cancel the engagement." I tried cheering up myself but the more that I think about it, the more nervous I get.

'Why the hell am I getting all worked up for this?'

I shake off my thoughts and went outside my room.

"Sweetie what took you so long? You can't let Kakucho wait." Mom nagged.

"He has to wait mom. I'm the woman here so he needs to adjust." I said and I heard a soft chuckle.

"She's right. She's the woman and I can just wait." I was shocked to see him inside our house.

He went to mom to greet her and gave her a small box filled with desserts.

"I've come to pick you up." He offered his hand to me which I 'politely' decline.

"You don't have to. I have my own car." I said my eyes squinting at him.

"That would be a bit rude isn't it? I was the one who invited to go out so I should at least provide you a ride there." He said with his amused smirk.

'I swear I want to remove that fucking smirk from his stupid face.'

"If you wanted to provide me a ride then you could've just sent a car here to pick me up." I said as we walk outside of the house.

"Well, we're going to the same place so why bother?" He answered while shrugging.

"Whatever. Let's just finish this and get over with it." He opened the car door for me and we drove off to the restaurant.

The whole ride was silent and it's staring to bore me. I looked at him while he was busy looking at the road.

"Your scar fits you." I blurted out of nowhere.

He looked a little flustered but he immediately regained his posture.

"You'll get us killed with that random compliment." He said.

"What's wrong with that compliment? It does suit you though." I replied.

"Well that's not what normal people would usually say to someone with a big scar so that caught me off guard." He said still eyes on the road.

"Are you saying I'm not normal?" He looked at me and I could feel my heart pound for a little.

"Who knows." He went back looking on the road and the silence was back again.

A few more turns and we arrived at our destination. We sat down and as after we ordered I looked him in the eye.

Kakucho's POV:
She was looking at me again and I could tell what she wanted to say.

"I want to break up our engagement." She said straightforwardly.

"Well Miss L/n, too bad but I can't do anything about that. You know pretty well how greedy your father is when it comes to business. I wonder how will he react if he found out that you wanted to call this off." I said looking at her. For a moment she became silent.

"I know my dad pretty well but what benefit do I get from this? In the end, it's only the two of you who gets benefits." She said.

Well she was talking some sense. In terms of benefits she's at a disadvantage.

"Then why don't we have a deal? We get to be married for four years and fulfill the will so I can get my father's company. In exchange you can be have a 50% share in my own company after we get divorced." She had thought of it.

"Hmm, that sounds tempting, give me more time to think about it then we can talk about the other terms." She said.

Our food soon arrived and we started enjoying our scrumptious meal.

"So, what do you do for work?" I asked her trying to strike a conversation.

"Getting personal are we? Though to answer your question, I work as an employee in my dad's company."

"I thought you would be a pampered little princess that doesn't work and just wait for your father to pass it on to you." She looked at me like I was ridiculous.

"As you know, my father doesn't like those kinds of things. He wants me to experience how it feels like to work in a company, how I should interact with the people in it. And besides, working from the lowest lets me know what to do and what I should improve if ever I became the owner."

I was amazed by how she viewed her father's training. If it were a normal spoiled brat it would have been throwing a tantrum to why starting at the bottom should be a must.

"What about you? What kind of business do you run?" She asked me.

"Well I run a pharmaceutical company. It's not that big but I could say I'm proud of how it's going."

"How does it feel to be independent and start up a business from scratch?" I looked at her and seemed interested in it.

"Well there are times when you feel lonely and there were times when I don't feel like I can do it but I did. It was hard at first, I tell you. You just need to be concentrated to your goal." She looked like she was interested in starting her own business.

"Well, if you want you can start one." I added.

"I don't have enough savings to start up a small business. To be honest I always wanted to start up an architectural firm." She confessed.

"You can do it and about the money, there's the bank you know. As far as I know you graduated with a BSBA degree right? You should know at least the fundamentals of starting up a business." She heaved a sigh.

"I know but I was kind of hesitant, you know my dad would not approve it." She told me.

"Then why don't I support you? I can be your first investor. I can tell your dad that I'm expanding my business since my father owns an architectural company." I told her. She looked up to me with excitement.

"Wait really?" I nodded my head. She looked happy and for some reason I felt happy too.

"We'll talk about that the next time, okay? You should finish up your food, it's getting cold." She happily obliged and we continued munching.

So far, the meal was good and I could tell that she enjoyed it.

"You're not as bad as I thought you would be." She told me as she turned to me.

'If only you knew darling.'

I just shrugged and let her inside my car to drive her home.

"We'll talk about the deal the next time I clear my schedule off. After that maybe we could spend time together, to get to know each other."

"Sure, I'll see you around." She turned to head out.

"I'm sure you will soon darling." I whispered.

"What was that?" She asked me.

"Oh nothing, I just can't wait. You seem interesting to me." I told her. She nodded and bid her goodbye.

I drove off and took another phone as I wore my voice changer.

"Hello?" Answered the person on the other line.
