The start and the end

Kamukura was reading in a library, it wasn't interesting but he had nothing else to do. His beloved servant was out taking Monaca to wherever she wanted and Servant couldn't deny her.

It had became a habit for Servant to go outside once every three days, just to get some food, entertainment or go on walks with Monaca.

Kamukura thought it was boring, why was he so keen on going outside anyways? Kamukura never asked because he didn't want the servant to panic and go on with the rant about hope and despair to avoid it.

However...

Recently, Servant has been coming back with bruises, which was either caused by his luck or he did it to himself. The first guess was more likely.

Kamukura wasn't lying when he said he was reading, he was reading and waiting for his servant to come back, to confront him. Admittedly, he didn't want to do this but it was getting out of hand, the last time Servant came back he was so injured and tired that he couldn't get up for 2 days..that means that Kamukura had to take care of Monaca and do the other chores Servant was supposed to do. Of course he had no problem, it was just boring and annoying.

Not that it was any less boring but he would rather sit in one spot than talking to Monaca. Not to mention that he also had to take care of Servant, he doesn't mind that actually but when sick, Servant could be a little-

KNOCK KNOCK

"Izuru? I'm sorry if I'm bothering you but you said to meet you when I came back so.." Servant's voice got quieter as he trailed off, if Kamukura wasn't a good listener he wouldn't have been able to tell what Servant was saying. He put the book down and went to unlock the door for Servant,

"Welcome back. I was just reading, go take a seat. You weren't bothering me but we'll discuss about something that has been bothering me though."

"O-oh...Ah! Thank you! And of course, what would you like to discuss about?"

...

"Servant, you have new bruises?" That was a statement not a question, though if Servant wasn't familiar with the tone of Kamukura's voice he would've never known. And with that tone, he knew where Kamukura was going at.

"Yes? I was just being clumsy so you don't have to worry about me-"

"Servant."

"Well did you know Monaca had so much fun? I'm glad I'm raising her!"

"I'm not repeating myself."

"Huh... I..fell, that's it..off a cliff...it isn't anything serious and I'm fine! Just my luck, right? Ahahaha.." Servant laughed quietly as he take a seat opposite to Kamukura's. He can't tell if Kamukura was worried or annoyed with him coming back with bruises, maybe both? As if Kamukura was worried about him, possibly the annoyed part only..

"Sit still, I'm going to treat them."

"Thank you..Izuru."

Kamukura brings out an ice pack and wrapped it in a towel then gave it to Servant. Servant gently rest it on the bruises on his face, he would take care of the rest on his body later. For now..he have to worry about how to explain to Kamukura. Perhaps he will let it go like the-

"I want you to stop going out."

Ah, there is it.

"But why?! Yes I know I'm useless and just a stepping stone for hope but me going out means that I can get-"

"I don't care, I can provide us enough to live so you don't need to go out. Besides you're just coming back with more unnecessary scars that need to heal."
