I wonder where that handy woodworking man is. That is another thing. if you look like that you are not a boy. You are certainly a man.
Walking down to the training grounds for once not looking for Pieterre. I remember the dragon doors lock had to be replaced. This beast that my dad no longer wants apparently broke the last one and is now kept in isolation until it gets fixed. Poor animal. Added the isolated ground still has enough space for him to fly freely but still he must be so lonely. Kind of like me right now. A lonely young girl walking up to what she hopes is a lonely young man, offering up her help to fix a lock. He might be able to help me fix my lock as well. The one on my heart.
But will he still like me when he finds out the truth?
That I am the princess he is to protect. Plus, I don't even know if he likes me now. We had one brief interaction that lasted no more than a few seconds.
There he is, sanding the wood, moving the apparatus up and down with hard friction but he is not alone. A man is standing next to him. Even though we have all the fancy equipment and technology to fix things like this, when it comes to woodwork, my dad still prefers the old fashion way. Blood and sweat give the wood character as he would say. I completely agree. If that wood replicates the effort that has been put into it, well then it must be worth it. I wonder if this is the other guard Nessy was talking about?
Anthonieos spots me walking across the grounds.
Anthonieos: "Look, here she is. The fair maiden I had confided in you about."
"Gossiping are we."
Anthonieos: "Never gossip, no ma'am merely stating facts."
"Facts? Well as long as it was good things. And how many facts could you possibly know about someone you barely met?"
Anthonieos: "Well I have spoken about your magnificent eyes that change color. About your mouth that pulls just a bit to the left side when you smile. About your hair that resembles the rising of the son. Warm, light."
"Please stop. You are embarrassing me."
Anthonieos: "See I told you, there are those magnificent crystals on her face that goes changing color on me again. What did I say Drikust? Is she not exactly as I had described her if not fairer today than when we met first before the second moon turned?"
Drikust: "I cannot argue. She is as you had mentioned. I doubt the princesses could live up to such a beauty. And yes, dude, her eyes are awesome."
"Awesome dude. Let me get this straight. We have one guy that sounds like a royal knight and the other that could almost pass for human, yet they seem to be close friends and equally as handsome."
Anthonieos: "Equally. I doubt that. I am just a slight bit more charming than he is I would like to think. Well, my father was a royal knight in the king's army many moons ago. He has retired since. I assume he has passed some of his charms to me."
Drikust: "Just so you are aware lovely lady, I am half-human. See the short ears. Let's just say my mom never enjoyed the company of her kind. When she tried spicing up her life, an elf was just the right flavor she needed."
"Spoken like a true human, and the shorter ears are quite cute if I must admit. While we are on the princess subject there is something I must mention too well, I guess both off you"
Drikust: "Do you know them? Well, you should. You are always in the castle. Are they nice or more like royal pains? All dolled up in their castles, too good to get to know the elves working for them. You must be the trainer I had heard about. The girl that works with all the dangerous beasts. I heard it is like you can communicate with then bro like you understand each other or some shit like that? Have you seen them? Are they all like pretty and dolled up like the princesses from the east? Those girls were the worst!"
"Anthony, is it ok if I call you that? Is he always this... um, how can I ask this politely, enthusiastic?"
Anthonieos: "Unfortunately yes, this is one of his character flaws. And you may call me whatever your heart desires. But first, you came here to say something?"
"Great, this will be fun. Well, firstly to answer your question yes; I am that girl that trains the so-called wild. I like to think of them as misunderstood beasts. They are the castle's pets I will have you know. Secondly; no, I don't think I communicate with them, but I do believe they understand me. My emotions at least. Oh and lastly, I know the princesses quite well. I see the youngest daily when I look in the mirror."
"Kindly allow me the opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Casoritania Chrishinkiano Jouberten, also known as Cassy, I am the youngest princess."
Drikust: "O my word dude, you must feel so stupid now."
"Please don't. I am off to train the beast. I assume we will see each other again shortly."
Turning around without looking back to see the reaction on Anthonieos' face, I walk away. I do not think I would be able to cope with that now. It feels so bad having deceived him when we met.
Added that we did not know each other and, to be honest, we still don't. I did not even get a chance to offer in helping with the lock. Then again, it did not seem like they needed any.
Most of the day was spent training all the creatures except the dragons. Let us not get into that again! I still think I would do a better job with that than any of these imbeciles. They do not try to get to know them. They don't show any compassion or love towards them and yet they expect them to obey every command. Sit, stay, lay. I would try to break away as well if everyone treated me like that.
"My boy, I need to go. It is getting late and I must spend more time with my sister. You should not be so sad; I will be back tomorrow. This school break gives me more time to spend with you but Nessy is only here for a few days. Do you know what I just realized? Maybe I do communicate with you without realizing it. You know all my secrets and listen better than anyone I know. But right now, I need to take my leave of absence. Love you."
Giving each pet their good night kiss on the head to bid them adieu. Fangs and all, even the lack of skin on some of them, like the skinless cobranded monitor do not bother me. I adore each and every one of them.
(Skinless Cobranded Monitor: It is similar to a bush monitor lizard but with the venom similar to that of a cobra. Its body is semi-translucent as one can clearly see each vein through it. I cannot really elaborate on the color as it is very indistinctive due to the tone. It does however almost seem to have somewhat of a blueish tint. but that might just be from the blood vessels. Mating procedures are similar to that of any reptile and they do lay eggs but only two at a time each cycle).
